How does the game fit the theme?
The game asks the player to trust Buddy, the procedure, the rescue ship, and even their own expectations of how a game is supposed to work. In the end, they shouldn't even trust the game itself.

*** Spoiler below ***

A scam that ends the game before it really gets started.

The game fits the theme through the idea of “Trust No One.” The player trusts Buddy because his instructions feel like a normal tutorial, but Buddy never tells them the whole truth. The player follows the procedure, believing they are preparing to escape, only to discover that the rescue ship leaves without them.

The game also plays with the player's trust in the game itself. When the ship flies away, the player naturally thinks, “What happens next?” - but nothing does. The game simply ends. The player shouldn't trust Buddy, the procedure, the rescue ship, or even their expectations of how the game is supposed to continue.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
For audio, I downloaded many SFX from Creative Commons sound packs. I listed all of the sources I used, and in some cases I combined multiple sounds and manipulated them to fit the game.

I also reuse main menu hierarchy from my another project. Even with changes (accesebility option) - that was shortcut

Very cool game, was much fun to play. I think you’d like my game to as I’ve also decided on a Space game :)

This was a fun vertical slice, it had me wanting more. I like the story you created for it, and the end scene especially, though I couldn't see the connection to the theme. Graphics, sound and overall vibe were nice too. Great job!

Oh, we’re really glad you enjoyed the game! ❤️

As for the connection to the theme, our main idea was that, when sitting down to play a game, we naturally develop certain expectations. For example, when the game gives you the option to “grab the steering wheel”, you expect the next thing to be either driving the vehicle or a cutscene leading to another location.

We decided to break those expectations and play with the player’s assumptions. That was our take on “Trust No One”. Even the game itself might not always be telling you the truth.

There were a few other hints as well. One was the poster on the door right at the beginning, with text along the lines of “You are safe with us.” Then there are Buddy’s messages, which repeatedly assure you that this is just a simulation designed to prepare you for crisis situations. After a while, you can realize that this was a lie. It’s not a simulation at all, and the danger you’re in is very real.

We’re actually working on a continuation right now, with the goal of turning this into Act 1 of a larger story. It still won’t be very long, though. We’re trying to make it with the manpower of just two people. 😅

Thanks again for playing and for the feedback! It really means a lot to us!

I liked the game, but sadly I couldnt figure out how to open the containers

Developer(+1)

Hi, thanks for playing! The containers will be possible to open once the rating period is over. We’ll upload an updated build then.

That’s why you’ll see lines in some places like: “To open this, I could really use a cosmic can opener” (something like this message) 😄

The game felt polished.  I found three ending but I'm sure there were more. I don't know why but I just kept coming back to this game.

Developer

Oh, thank you for the compliment. Don’t worry about endings for now. There were supposed to be 8 achievements in the game. Unfortunately, for some reason, the browser and Windows builds don’t allow you to unlock the remaining 4. We’ll fix that after the jam.

This is our first 3D game. So when we read that it looks “polished,” we have mixed feelings, because we can see that there are still a lot of things that could be improved =)

Very nice and polished game. I LOVED the comedic intro. The game looked polished enough and gameplay was so immersive. Also liked the soundtracks and sfx nicely matching the atmosphere (turned out you didn't waste 70% of your time haha!)

enjoyed the humor, 2d in space suit hands. instructions were confusing so I didn't get far (couldnt open a container) in 3 attempts. I did freeze to death tho so I kinda finished once.

Really cool visuals and love the meta ending lol. It was cool finding all the easter eggs as well. Super fun and short lil game.
Would really appriciate it if you checked out my game as well

Wow, really polished! Any game set in space immediately hooks me, but adding a bit of humor with just a touch of horror sold me completely.

Short, but with solid replay value. Great job!
