The animations are buttery smooth and the gameplay feels so fluid and fun! I especially loved the mechanic of inspecting the food and hunting down clues. Easily one of the best games I've played in this jam.

Thank you for your kind words!

Loved it! One of the most beautiful games in this jam. And the idea and implementation are perfect. Great job :)

It is beautiful visually - I think the font really fits and adds a lot here. You can see that a lot of work went into it given how polished it feels.

I think that there were a bit too many suspects since inspecting everyone for few different dishes was a bit repetitive. Besides that the game is really well designed - the patience timer on the king forces you to take action but also provides you enough time to investigate everything properly. I also liked how almost everything was interactable.

Very cool game!

Thanks for your feedback!
We tried to make the suspects be from different "fields" so we could have someone to start the investigation from - Butcher for meat related foods, baker for breads, farmer for potatoes etc. By talking to them hopefully a thread would start unfolding, but I guess we need to make the characters and whole investigation a bit more solid.
Thanks again!

I really liked the game's concept. The atmosphere is highly immersive, and the game is fun to play. On the first day, no one ruined the king's food!😁 But I kept looking for a catch. You did a great job!

Glad you had fun with it :)!
That's how it is to be the food inspector for the king - you never know when someone decides to tamper with the food. :D

This is a great game! It feels finished and polished and fun! You all must have worked so hard on it. I do wish it was a bit easier to see when food was poisoned. But I guess if it was easier, then it wouldn't be as fun.
Anyway, well done. I don't understand why you guys don't have more votes, because it seems like you should.

Thank you for your kind words! At least you enjoyed it and voted for it, so that's a plus :).  We do hope for more votes ourselves  as well .
Thanks again!

Really fun game! The art direction and atmosphere are beautifully done!

I especially loved the 3D models! You clearly put a lot of thought into making it possible for the player to actually spot whether something is wrong with the food.

The overall game design is great, and the instructions are easy to understand. I really enjoyed searching around the room for different clues and trying to piece everything together!

One thing I would love is some clearer feedback on whether I imprisoned the right person or not! I tried the shattered glass fish case twice, but the glass fish just kept appearing afterwards, so I wasn't sure if I had actually caught the right person TT

Overall, I had a lot of fun with it!

Thank you for your feedback!
Yes, we currently left the feedback out kinda on purpose, so the fact that the fish kept being  filled with glass was supposed to indicate itself that the culprit is still around. But definitely something to think about.

LOVE the concept! The execution is near perfect, everything felt polished! Love the art style, and the music fits great too. Being able to inspect items was a really cool touch.

Critiques: it took me a while to realize you have to find clues in the rooms to imprison someone. Making that clearer would help. Also personally not sure the pause/main menu UI fits the atmosphere.

Other than that, this was one of my favorites from the jam. Good job!

Thank you for your kind words! We definitely need to work on making the gameplay clearer for the new players.

good atmosphere gameplay and visuals!

Glad you liked it ! :)

The game was really great, it was really well implemented, and it was really fun, the atmosphere was really great and fitted the theme. Really great job with the game. The only problem I had was that sometimes I couldn't see anything visually wrong with the food but it seemed poisoned, I wasn't sure if I had talk to the staff for each food or not. But still, the scale was great for this limited time. Great Job :D

Yeah.. We have a few instances where it might not be too clear on how the food was tampered with, something to improve later on.
Thanks for taking the time to play it!

Its a nice game, but i feel like there is something missing gameplay wise. Great art and audio, i think it can be good building blocks, it may also be worth just considering it a minigame that can be slotted somewhere else, on its own it may not be the strongest but can enhance something else greatly.

Thanks for the constructive feedback! This honesty really helps in validating ideas.
Glad you found the time to test it and give it a shot!

Amazing work! This could easily be a fun side quest in TES: Oblivion. I loved the warm visual style and the original investigation mechanics. It just needs a bit of polish.
By the way! It would be hilarious if the wine spilled out of the goblet when the player turns it upside down.

(+1)

Thanks! Yeah, we also thought of the wine spillage, but we also had to consider our weeks "budget" for other stuff. :D
Glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks for playing! We will try our best to improve the gameplay

Very cool! The idea of having to figure out who the culprit is (even though I only realized it a bit later) makes you want to keep playing. I really liked the art style and the overall mood as well. The music fits the theme perfectly

Thanks for taking the time to play! Yeah.. we do have to figure out a better way to signal to the player that they should investigate. Glad you overall enjoy it :)

This game was awesome! My only issue that kind of hindered my enjoyment, is that I had no idea that I was supposed to look for clues, and kept trying to give the king the potato, lol. Other than that, the art direction was great, and I loved the concept!

(+1)

yeah, we were kinda stumped on how we could show it better, without plainly telling it - guess the tutorial letter at the start didn't work :D.
Thanks for taking the time and giving it a shot!

Thanks for playing! It was fun creating it too :D

I very much like the visuals in the game, and the music is also nice! It's a nice concept and it fits the theme really well!
I played the game for some time, and while I was able to identify the tampered food, and the culprit, I just wasn't able to find any material evidence, even after searching the whole place over. Could I mayhays get a hint? Would love to try again!

Nonetheless I enjoyed playing the game, great job :D

Glad to hear you had fun!
There really isn't much tips to give :'D, often times they are hidden in the corners of the shelves and in similar almost out of the vision places. 1 spot is at the bottom shelves, that might give some grief to some players, but crouching should help.
Thanks again for playing!

wait you can crouch :O I didn't know that I'll take a look again, thanks for the hint!

Yes, I updated the itch page with the controls as well, thought maybe if you didn't know, others might not as well. :D

Submitted

Talking about the controls I only just figured out you can jump lol
I didn't find any materials only accessible by jumping though I'd add it to the controls too.

Turns out I'm just blind apparently XD

After looking around some more I was able to find the poisoned bread and wine ones and the sweet bun cyringe. I'm sure there's more though, so I'll probably come back later!
