The art is beautiful but the puzzles are a bit difficult for me. Still, the amount you were able to complete in a week are impressive. Good job!

So long, dr Ackroyd is a fantastic point and click game. The visuals are through the roof, and is probably one of the best in the jam. The puzzles are quite complicated in my opinion, in a good way. I'm really bad at puzzles, even some of the Zelda dungeons are too much for me lol. The story is also very well thought out, and the atmosphere is spot on, with the music complementing it nicely.

Again, I can't say too much as I'm really bad puzzles. Fantastic entry, you manageed to do quite a bit in 1 week!

Also bonus points for the thumbnail!

A Nice point and click mystery game. I will say the only negative aspect is the music in the main room does get in the way after a while, but it was good experience that had me hooked.

This game was Great, The art style was awesome, the story was really catchy, the puzzles were really logical, although I had to use the hint you've provided. It was a well made polished game, amazing Job :D

your game's art style is soooooooo goood i was really impressed by it, for the gameplay itself it's good, for me i think the font doesn't match with the art style but i dont know maybe i just dont have that much experience, otherwise everything looks good , good game !!

I think this game has the best graphics design out of any other game i've played so far! it feels very nostalgic and the puzzles, although a bit difficult and some times confusing, are pretty manageable and satisfying to complete

The old-school murder mystery hook, top-down isometric art direction, and nostalgia-heavy point-and-click investigative gameplay make this entry feel like a classic retro detective adventure! The custom cover art, immersive soundtrack, and atmospheric environmental storytelling set up a fantastic tone for a jam project.

A few puzzle logic, UI, and localization tweaks for post-jam polish:

- Interactive Color Syncing: Fix the bookshelf asset bug where selecting a specific color book renders a different color on-screen (e.g., clicking red but drawing green).

- Puzzle Logic & Brute-Forcing: Adjust puzzle hints so solutions (like the green box or birthday code) don't rely on trial-and-error, and keep your Google Docs hint link easily accessible in the itch description.

- Proofreading & Narrative Flow: Run the dialogue script through a text editor or native proofreader to catch minor grammar slips and typos so the writing matches the stellar visual quality.

Awesome retro mystery vibe! If you get a free minute, I'd really appreciate your feedback and rating on my solo jam entry as well: /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4953523

Beautiful art style!

I like this kind of games, very well made, i couldn't figure out the green box code, but i knew the others, so i just tried like 3 combinations and god the door to open.

One visual issue i had: Some of the books in the bookself weren't the right color (i would press a red book and a green one would apper on my screen)

Really immersive, good job!

Loved the old school murder mystery vibe here, and the top down art looks super nice. The therapist murder setup was a cool hook and fit the investigation theme well. I did see people mention some puzzle/bug issues like the combination book, but this still has a lot of charm, nice job :)

This is very cool! Really love the classic mystery and the art style. It was a throwback to some games I played long ago.  I would like a whole series of mysteries like this, haha.

Loved the art style and was really impressed by how finished some aspects of the game seemed to be. It was a  pretty good point and click game from my experience (I have literally only ever finished one before) and I liked the soundtrack, it fit well with the style of the game, good job.

Honest review:

The artwork was very well done.  The music was decent, but did get repetitive.  Sound effects were excellent.  The atmosphere as a whole did work.

The writing was a bit off.  Incorrect words and grammar, etc were too common to be typos.  You can use text editors to check grammar for you.  The story was fine, otherwise.

This really is an example of a classic, common trope for point and click games.  There was some very peculiar logic to solving the puzzles.  Some were simple, others were not.  I, and likely many others, managed to get through some of them by just using trial and error.

Theme fits well, given the ending.

Your game reminded me of the old, good point-and-click games where you had to find that one clue or key among all the clutter
