Even with the hints that you left, it was still very hard for me to understand what I was trying to accomplish with the game. I also soft locked myself many times and I think that a restart level button would be handy.

How does the game fit the theme?
The theme “Trust No One” has been interpreted as not trusting the game itself. Throughout the levels, the player gradually understands how the simulation manipulates them, even after they gain the impression that they have broken reality.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I used a pre-existing player asset that I made and altered it to fit the theme, rest all are done from scratch.
How many people worked on the game?1

A unique way to fit the theme, but I really enjoyed it, especially the glitch effect. Good job!
I like how you represented the theme. Could not get through the third level I thought the mirror would reflect the door after I got the key.
The UI is very cool.
Very confusing puzzle game, in the first level i didn't even know how i passed tbh :)).
I would sugget to do smth about the shadow, to make it always stay on the ground.
Also on level 3, if you move the mirror from above the button, the reflection stays in the mirror.
Very good concept, some bugs, but still pretty cool.
Good job!
Thanks for playing !! Actually in the 3rd level i made it so that when you move the mirror to show the button and click the button and key appears, the key is a misleading thing, you gotte then move the mirror towards reflecting the gap in the floor and jump on the gap, when you try to make reflection of that gap the mirror will auto lock in and you wont be able to move , but yea you are right first level is really confusing for everybody and i gotte work on it :) . and for shadow i was just lazy so my bad 💀
It's a good concept, it has a few flaws, like allowing me to move the object outside the play area, but that's to be expected in a game jam. Good game and good idea :D
I like the art! As others have mentioned this was confusing to play. I think some testing during development might have helped a lot. But congrats on your first jam game! It's always better in my opinion to try something different and have it not quite come through than to copy a known design.
I like the concept: a puzzle game where you need to "break" the puzzle rather than solving it, but the actual implementation of the idea needs work. I don't quite got how the actions you take correspond with the results.
The music, sound and visual effects are top notch, thought. The atmosphere every time reality breaks is perfectly unsettling.
The game is really intriguing and confusing in a good way! However, it might be a good idea to make the first couple of levels a bit easier or add a small tutorial, as it's quite easy to get stuck right at the start. Despite that, the game looks great and has a really nice style. Good job!
I was very lost for most of the game, but I'm glad that I read around for the solution because the moment the mirror activated was really cool! Overall nice use of effects for such simple graphics
Like others said, the game is very obtuse.. I think for the first few challenges you should ease players into the game - for example, have some unique shape for the mirror (e.g, elipse like you did later), and have this exact shape at the start so people know to drag it there.
Very creative game, and I see a lot of potential!
I don't wanna repeat but i believe the stuff what others said is right. While the theme is there for the main idea of the game, it could have been played around a bit via as one other comment said, reflections. in my opinion, instead of a tutorial or hint system. try building an environment that would subtly tell the player instead. let the world of the game guide the player (and in this case of the theme, the one that would also lie to the player) it doesn't have to be overly detailed or anything but its the little details that count. gameplay wise and progression, its straightforward once you figured it out and side from that minor section (like the mirror thing) its good
Thankyuuu for the suggestion and i think you are right, environment plays a vital role and i looked over it, i should have explored on how a game would be engaging and intuitive but i was so focused on making the game feel like something i had in mind, i forgot to notice the subtle that are louder than they seem T-T. Btw your game is soo good man, i got to learn a thing or two from your game, so polished, loved it.
I took control.
Interesting idea. As other have said : the game is pretty unintuitive, but I don't think an hint system would have been the ideal solution. Making the mirror actually reflect the world around it would immediatly hint to the player that something must be done with the reflexion. Personally, I was convinced that it was just a plate of glass before placing it next to the button.
Solid effort though, I'm sure you just need more practice to give your ideas the mechanics they deserve. After solving the first puzzle the second and third just goes without saying. Nice work.
Thankuu, and you are right making the mirrors actually reflect would have been a good idea and i had thought about it but then i thought it would be too hard so I just left it without trying . Looking back to it if i had tried making an actual mirror, it would have made other things a lot more easier to execute. thanks for the suggestion brotha :)
It was a really interesting idea! Great job! The menu was great too! I really loved the effects.
I managed to drag the mirror around, but got a bit stuck on how to use it. A little hint or tutorial for that part would be awesome.
I feel like this was a good concept and prototype but is missing a lot of playstesting and bug fixing. I appreciate the try, it is a nice concept but it has no hints, tips nor you know the objective, missing a lot of UI/UX which could have been solved with playtesting (a tip: always give the game to someone who plays games and a friend who doesn't play games, always good to at least have both perspectives). Anyways, good job in this one!
Thankuuuuu that's a wonderful review mate and that's exactly what i needed to know, and you are totally right and I should have thought about those things. And you are right i didn't test the game with any friends nor thought about hint system while making a puzzle game ;-------; , I really appreciate it brotha <3 I shall work on the playtesting and bugfixes in my next project.
Super clean visuals good job , love your Font and shader in the title. /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4950346
