Description
The prompt was "forgotten world", so after some consideration I'd interpreted this as a game where you must venture through the forgotten world of your own childhood whimsy, engaging in fun youthful activities but as a shrunken version of yourself.
This short soundtrack outlines the concept of a bathtub world, whereby you get to experience the wonders and party in a bubble bath enviroment, whilst certain rubber waterfowl threaten to attack. A bit of a quirky take, but hey, I love the open-endedness of these jams!
My production/composition mostly consists of MASSIVE synthesisers, aiming for a bubbly, acid feel. Made in Ableton LIVE 12.
"Bubble Party Fun Time!!"
A sort of overworld track for the bathtub world. It's sundown and the bathtoys have erupted into party. You traverse across the tub bouncing on larger bubbles and hijacking plastic boats.
One of my favourite parts of this composition was sampling my own bubbles to produce the "bubble pop" lead mainly heard in the piece's ending (don't ask me how I sampled this).
"The Rubber Ducky That Tries To Kill You (In A Nice Way)"
Admist your tub traversal, one bath toy doesn't exactly like your presence and wants to reclaim itself as king of the bathtub! This duck boss theme was fun to put together! A mix of classic urgency and melodic ideas from the previous overworld theme, not to forget plenty of quacks! The structure consists of an opening hit, first phase, second hit and secondary faster phases that you might expect from this sort of boss.

I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the quack... was not disappointed! There is a high trilling lead in the second track that I wish was brough out more, but on the whole I have a great time listening to these - they definitely feel cohesive. Nice work!

Wonderful interpretation of the theme. The composition style reminded me a lot of Jake Kaufman's works, especially on Mighty Switch Force. I honestly didn't expect to like the tracks as much as I did, they're really impressive, quality wise. I just wish there was more! The first track at around the 1 minute mark became such a FUCKING banger, like genuinely. Expect a high rating from me, this was a great submission, especially considering it's your first jam.

I really liked how you reused the theme of the first track in The Rubber Ducky That Tries To Kill You (In A Nice Way), and how you used the duck sound as a drum. It's so funny listening to that lead, and the tempo change was just perfect.

There's so much charm and fun packed into this submission! I love the 'poppy' synths in the first track and I can totally see it as an overworld theme (although I can also picture it as a menu theme). This is a brilliant display of creativity and the kind of whacky ideas this jam needs more of.
probably the most fun i've had listening to an ost comp jam sub LOL even the chosen genre immediately threw me back to the early/mid 2010s so that game description is extremely accurate😭 this gives me HEAVY obscure 30 min long indie game that feels like a fever dream when you're playing it and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
Bubble Party Fun Time!!: this gives me such a bonus stage feel! I love this so much. We don't get enough tracks this upbeat in jams and I absolutely love this.
The Rubber Ducky That Tries To Kill You (In A Nice Way): this is the perfect sound for a more light hearted boss theme. Got me groovin. I really like the mischievous intro part and how it segues into the happier sounding parts. Great combination of moods here. And that tempo increase! Feels like he's below 50% health now lol. I now feel like making a track with this type of feel next jam lol.

Bubble Happy Fun Time!! - Great chord progressions, melodies, and groove add forward momentum from one section to the next. I like the small detail of Lydian or #11 sound in the main hook of the track. And great job of placing that melody over a new progression in the bridge, overall great focus on developing the leitmotif in a way that makes sense and pushes the composition forward. Similarly, the sound design and selections all feel unique while still coming from the same sound world—I enjoyed the bubble popping sounds most of all. The vibe might seem deceptively simple, but you’re a master of your craft!
The Rubber Ducky That Tries to Kill You (In A Nice Way) - 0:42 onward is awesome at creating a sense of panic. The increase of tempo at 0:52 just ups the ante, then I love the flipping between major and minor at around 1:09. The squeaks and quacks perfectly fit into the music without distracting or sounding out of place.

The tracks are fun and remind me of an almost 8/16-bit game soundtrack. I loved the incorporated quacks. Of the two, my favorite was "Bubble Happy Fun Time".
