Description
In Monochroma, you play as Yula, a witch tasked to heal the world and prevent her own people from plunging it into chaos.

Day 1, The Beginning
The beginning of the end. A vibrant, lively world reduced to meager dregs by the abuse and manipulation of mana, the proverbial and literal river of life that flows through all land and living creatures.
Conflict. Strife. Greed. Gluttony. The sins of our mothers dried and spoiled the gardens and splendor, and what vestiges remain of us struggle to commune with the lingering traces of mana.
I simply hope there is still time to— No. There must be time to amend the suffering that plagues us all.
Day 14, The Journey
The journey laid out before me is a most tumultuous path, but I can only move forward. The witches of old have drained even the setting sky of its vibrance; the gentle ombre and shifting hues that once painted the horizon.
Magic, and the very life it sustains, belongs to everything that breathes beneath these colors. I will see to it that the sun sets once again and clear the brume which obscures the light.
Day 37, The Forbidden Lands
Misfortune has befallen the Forbidden Lands, as fractured scape and frenzied scars carve their way through wounded earth. Impure magical excess has corrupted the soil to an extent far worse than that suffered by nearby areas. Flushing this infected wound will be no easy feat, but it is nonetheless necessary to correct the follies of my people.
Day 55, The Witch
Ragged breath rasps its way through a scratched throat. My heart, as weakly as it beats, is felt in every nerve, every limb, every thought scattering my mind. My legs begin to fail beneath me, struggling to march forward toward an endless, oppressing dark. My head falls, and I catch a glimpse of myself in a shallow puddle.
I brush off the dust and doubt. If I fail here, the world will fall apart as it has done for a generation. All will be laid to ruin. Life will cease, and for a moment, I wonder what that would feel like.

I also wanna thank my friends that did the art and helped me with the writing once again, I didn't have much time since my life is a lot busier than last year, so some of it is honestly a little rushed but I hope you enjoy what I made :)

really love the synths in the first track! the soundscape here is very well executed. the next two tracks support this very rich atmosphere with great ambient synths. the solo piano line in the final track is my favorite, though! i really do love the soft nature of the composition here. it's REALLY well written. thanks for sharing!!!

Beautiful work, I especially love the piano trails in the back of the synths in The Journey. The Witch is also a super nice melancholy track, great job with the piano.

omg I love the beginning so much. Reminds me of dark souls/demon souls character creation. Instant save. The journey uses the beginning's motif so well, and the flute is just chef's kiss! The piano work in the journey sounds so soulful, man, I love it so much. THE FORBIDDEN LANDS IS SO FIRE. GOT DRAGONS DOGMA CASSARDIS VIBES FROM THIS SONG WHICH IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS EVER IN GAMING. The witch feels so tragic and intentional. Very personal, emotional piece. You've outdone yourself with this one, beepo 5 stars across the board from me.
This felt like such a personal journey. Your character is very clear and stands out, and the grief interwoven in these pieces is is so heavy. I could stay in this world for a while, just to keep your character company. You translated emotions so well with your music, I even got goosebumps in the last song. Really great work.
First of all, the artwork is stunning and leaves a lasting impression so props to the artist! The writing was also a nice touch and the soundtrack itself is no less impressive. Everything sounds super high quality and the compositions are lovely. Even with just piano, the witch is a hauntingly beautiful piece, probably my favorite alongside the journey. This is a wonderful submission, congrats!
I liked the forbidden lands. It reminded me of Area zero from Pokemon scarlet and violet.
Great soundtrack ! I really liked the background textures in the first three tracks. It really created a cool ambience, that was both ominous, mysterious and nostalgic. It was a great journey, and the ending in "The Witch" really depicted perfectly what you had written. My favorite track was "the forbidden lands" because I really liked the vibe.
Damn this is really good, the instruments sound great and it's a joy to listen to from start to end.

the only critique that i can think of is that this needs to be longer!!!!!!!
You did some great job with mixing, because in the first track i didn't even realize that guitar was a VST plugin and not a recorded real one. Overall it sounds great!

Love, love, LOVE this soundtrack! Absolute earcandy throughout. The celeste runs atop the pads really create an eerie-yet-blissful texture that I can't get out of my head! Would've loved to have heard some more understated percussion in "The Journey", though that's just me!
Listening to this, I feel like I'm seeing things through a cyanotype filter, with little glimpses of bronze-yellow here and there. Love it!
The percussion is definitely the weakest part of The Journey, it's usually not my strong suit but I'm glad you liked it still :)
I enjoyed this submission and how it interprets the theme. You have a good mix and production quality, also nice chord choices overall and key change in the forbidden lands. My favorite track is definitely the journey. Beautiful melody and sound selection, including all the various earcandy in the background and towards the end.
great googly moogly the artwork is SO COOL!!!!!! ok i know it's a music jam but the art drew me in right away and the ost delivers!!!! really like the modulation in the forbidden lands, personally makes me feel like the stakes just got higher within the story which is also reflected in the jam description! the witch is just so so lovely, would definitely add it to my playlist if this ost ever gets posted to youtube! SUPER AWESOME STUFF!!!

What can I say ? This is beautiful, very well executed, and the drawings are jaw dropping. It's the second submission I rate that I find to have a Rayman 1 vibe, but maybe I just want to play Rayman 1 really badly.
This has been my favorite project visually next to Evenfall so I'm glad people like it :')
