That was really  fun to play! The difficulty felt just right and I liked using the card suits for the drinks. A game where you make cocktails is a fun idea too, I'd like to see it expanded on.

Developer

Rlly glad u enjoyed it! Thx!

Submitted

Really fun! Easy to pick up, good initial ramping of difficulty. Card suits worked well to help memorize patterns. I especially liked the customers' satisfied face animation.

Thx a lot for your kind words! Glad u enjoyed it!!

Loved the art, sfx and color palette. Quite challenging when the ice and lemons got added. Great job!

A really complete experience. Nice job! On my last drink I decided to see if order mattered, and it didn't, which was a nice way to be rewarded for that test haha. I think maybe this would have benefited from a slightly more engaging difficulty curve. It never felt too difficult (which is ideal for a game jam!) but the jumps in difficulty never actually felt too much harder. Great submission though!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I have noticed the "difficulty curve not engagin enough" problem, especially with the early stages.

unforgettable memory game, I was like let's see what this game is about but played until the end because I can't stop such a good game and it had a really clean sfx which made knowing what I am doing much easier. if there is more clarity on the signs for each bottle Imo this game lacks nothing

Developer

woah, thx a lot for your kind words!! Im very glad you like it!

I was a big fan of this drawing.

Very fun memory game. My only complaint is that I’d like the drink selection to always reset to the same spot, probably the left. Right now it stays on whatever item you picked last, which makes it harder to plan your inputs in advance. I wanted to be able to think, “two left, one right, then lemon.”

The pixel art is charming and reminds me of the original Tamagotchi on Game Boy. Had a ton of fun with this. Thanks for making it!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, i should have reset the position. Im very glad u enjoyed it!

Very nice and simple memorization game, I managed to make it to the end though I will admit I started to struggle a lot when ice and lemons started to get included and my last order was literally just a guess.

Apparently only the ratios matter, which would have made it significantly easier as for a time I thought if lemon/ice was underneath a cocktail ingredient it HAD to come right after it lol.

Still a solid entry overall.

Developer

Thx a lot for your kind words! Glad u enjoyed it!

Glad I got to finally try this out after you seen dev it in the Discord! I like the memorization loop. It maybe brings me back to bookkeeping where you remember invoice numbers for a few seconds then jump onto the next one XD  Would have loved to try maybe just one more thing, to push that memory challenge a half step further.

Loved the gameplay. Loved the novel idea.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Glad u enjoyed the game! Also yeah, i can see why the difficulty can be important here.

Submitted

Nice little memorisation game, I played it until the end :D

I like how the difficulty gradually increases as you play

I guess the symbols are the important bit here, kinda like how much of a percentage a drink should be mixed

The only issue is that some of the SFXs could be toned down

Developer

Thanks! Glad u enjoyed it! Also yeah, some of the sfx could be toned down, especially the timer one

Submitted

I thought this was a fun short game. I actually think it worked fine without the music and I thought the SFX was fitting for that gameboy feel.

Developer

Thx for your kind words! Glad u enjoyed it!

Love to see the game finished with all the different mixing ideas! I felt like the game was easy to understand, at worst mixing times were a bit too tight even if knew what you were doing. I also feel like a drink passed, even though I did the wrong order, does it only check for ratios?

Graphically the game is not bad, it is a bit ruff on the edges, but what it wants it gets done. Title screen font scaling sadly breaks the resolution rules!

SFX was okay, I would kinda want a little variation on the timer ping as it was getting repetitive at the end.

Overall so far an idea I haven’t seen, executed well! Good game!

Developer (1 edit)

Thx for the feedback! IT only checks for the ratios cuz no matter in what order you pour cocktails usually end up the same, but i understand why  you were confused by it.  Scaling issues are my worst enemy tbh, but the hosters didn't get it as an issue so i got off easy, tho yeah it breaks em. Also i got a "timer beep to loud" complaint multiple times and yeah, it is annoying. Btw you posted a comment 2  times

Competent prototype! The art pleasantly reminds me of old Flash games. 💚

While I understand the overall intent, the visual language association between the card symbols and the bottles themselves is a bit hard to understand, especially with the somewhat arbitrary shapes of the bottles themselves (I understand the spade bottle, and that's about it). I found myself squinting directly at the small toppers the entire time. Even so, the toppers are low-contrast and have a lot of ambiguity (I confused the spade and diamond toppers very often!).

Overall, good work. Congratulations on the submission! 🎉

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for the feedback! YEah, i can understand your struggles with the shapes,  i gotta do something about it after the jam

Good game! But here are a few critiques I want to give to you, first of all you mentioned that there is no music in this game because you don't know how to compose, well, why not learn how to compose? It takes some time, you can make the game better if you did. Next, you could add some creative elements to the game to give it some spice! Good job on making this game though.

Developer

thx for the feedback! I mean, i do not want my players to hear a cacaphony while they pour the drinks. And you are right about the creative elements.

Submitted

I really like how the gameplay feels! The graphics we're super clear and communicative, also really charming imo.

The count down sound was a bit annoying if I'm being honest, but overall I think its a well executed concept, that could use a bit more time in the oven (that's how jams go though!).

Developer

Thx a lot! Btw wdym "feels annoying"? Is it the sound or?

Submitted

Yeah, the sound being high pitched and repetitive was the annoying part. Other than that all good!

Developer(+1)

okay, got it.Thx for the feedback!

Submitted

Nice concept! Wish there was a skip button instead wait 2-3 seconds (or maybe autoskip if the glas is correct/something already did wrong)
You have to put in Background-music!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I don't know how to make music (and my sound designer was busy). But good point about the skip button!

Submitted

For this jam, it's quite easy (I'm not saying it'll sound like those awesome tracks from a professional composer), but on beepbox.co, with some basic steps up and down, you can get something together in just a few minutes. Just a friendly hint for the future! ;)
Example, just smash something together, also did never music before lol

Submitted

Good idea. I have a bad memory, but I manage to remember 4 items and lime/ice. Thank you, I had fun playing :)

Developer

Thx a lot for your kind words! Im glad u liked it!

Having the game on a smaller window actually fits the game pretty well. Makes it feel more contained, like a Wario Ware minigame.

Well done, I feel like this could actually be a game that existed on game boy.

Developer

Thanks a lot!! Glad u enjoyed it!

Jam HostSubmitted (1 edit)

fun game! great quirky art style. it would have been nice to have some music.

i think it would be nice to be able to press a button to jump to pouring if you have remembered the pattern before the timer counts down to zero. the first several are often just the same thing 4 times, so it’s a little too easy.

i didn’t notice any issues with scaling except that the game is very small on the page because you didn’t scale it up from the GameBoy resolution. i left another comment about how you might be able to make the game bigger on the page by adjusting some settings. hopefully that helps.

nice job on the game!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Yeah, i can see why the skip button is important. I gotta check the comment now!

Jam HostSubmitted

(i should have just put it here i guess)

go to edit your game and adjust the Embed Options like this. it should make the game bigger on the page and also allow the fullscreen option. image.png

Developer (3 edits) (+1)

i mean i did it, the game remained small and just on top of a bigass window now, its because i got pixel perfect camera(or cuz i set the resolution of it on the 320/288 in the build settings of Unity) on it. I removed it in the "Fixed the scaling issue build".  Atleast i have fullscreen now ig

i think im gonna do a build with larger resolution

Jam HostSubmitted (1 edit)

oh, my bad. i thought that setting would scale the game up to that size as well. yeah, you have to make your resolution 160x144 and then set the viewport settings to a larger size in the engine. looks like you got it with the new build on the other page. 👍
i don’t know why enabling fullscreen doesn’t actually make your game fullscreen. must be some weird Unity quirk or something because it works with other games.

Jam HostSubmitted(+1)

It's fine to link to another project if you want people to see your game without a certain bug/issue, but you NEED to show the original submission on your jam page still as people cannot rate fairly on an updated version of the game.

Developer

okay i will do that

Jam HostSubmitted

Thank you :)
