Thank you for playing! When you whack a student, it emits red stars. When you hit a cheater it emits green stars. But yes, in hindsight, it might not be that intuitive...  Maybe different Sounds, like a buzzer or a "ding" would help!

I sure will!

It could be! What I felt during game, and meant by "brute forcing",  was that it didn't matter which spell I used. There was no time pressure, nor resource management. So any spell would get the same job done. The difference would just be just a few more clicks or a few more seconds. I also remember thinking if it was really worth it to waste time flipping the book looking for the right spell rather than just picking the first one and just spam it.

Ok, I replayed it and in fact there are some spells who don't do absolutely anything to them really, maybe I was lucky in my first try

You did a great job with visuals. And the music is on the spot! While playing though I got some bugs with the game...

SPOILERS BTW:

  •  Millicent not showing up in the characters page nor the conclude page
  • When I examined the fire, it charred instantly and the description for it was broken:
  • After the murder scene, examining the feather says "Eustace is writing something with it"
  • Again after the murder scene, the family tree on the wall was gone
I didn't know if I messed up the save or if I really was just missing something due to the bugs  (I was stumped by the "The key is in the number..." part and couldn't open the lock). I did try multiple times, but nothing changed.

Despite all that, I was very excited to play and get immersed. And oh I did get immersed! You got a great game here!

Great presentation and great gameplay! Really like the comic style! I only wished the torturing mechanic was more involved (I mean it in a non sadistic way ofc!!). Like, maybe you also had to logically figure out what makes a wizzler talk, instead of brute forcing.

Had a blast though, the idea and animations are very well done. Congrats!

Wow, can't believe it you made all this in a week! It's short, but really, REALLY polished!

My only complaints are the tutorial texts skipping way to quick an it not sticking too much to the trust no one theme... And I guess I wished we had more time with the fairy, they seemed funny.

In spite of that, this is a beast of a game. The credits theme is a bop!

The backgrounds and the character designs are astonishing! The gamefeel is really dragging down the game though...

However, if you put in time on the gameplay and feel. I'm sure you'll make a great game! I mean, just look at what you made in a week!

Good luck!

I feel you... Last night I stayed up till 4 AM fixing bugs X0

0 deaths, 42 seconds. >:)

Very smooth controls!

I'm also glad you didn't made it absurdly hard.

Amazing story! Great gameplay idea and good execution!

I like how on the dashing character, the blast zone stays right behind the gunner. Its a clever solution so you can't just stay behind him and let him clear the way.

Congrats!

Great visuals and music! I really like M's design! Unfortunately, between the translations, it's a bit confusing for me...

Very creative! When I think of trust no one, I surely don't think of tetris.

I wish there was a tell when tetronimos would turn evil.

T'was fun!

Really liked the music! Good work!

The animations and the boomerang attack are actually very well done!

It's very fledged out for a solo game jam submission, hats off!

Aw man, I wandered on my own and found the exit real quick... I was looking forward to a big corporate labyrinth... The parkour section was very smooth though, I liked it!

As soon as I heard the music, I knew I was into a cute lil cozy game!

It felt a bit too easy tough... Perhaps mixing up the rules of the game itself would make it more interesting, rather than just making a better computer player.

As short as it was, I really liked it! Great work!

Simple and satisfying!

Great core idea for a game!

I was hoping eventually you would introduce something that makes you try to go faster, like a leaderboard or a monster that chases you at its own speed. With or without a chasing monster I fumbled a lot of times! Good work! The fake out at the end was very funny too!

The intro cinematic is great!
Obviously there's a lot to be done still... But you already have a solid start!
Making the path finding must have been tough!
Good luck with Fort Kessler!

Most game in the jam either focus on mechanics or a good story...

So far, yours the only one who balanced gameplay and story beats/dialogue perfectly.

Great game, congratulations!

The cheating mechanic is a nice twist to classic poker!

However, I never played poker... so I'm kind of clueless if I have a poor hand or not...

the game is astonishing though! It looks amazing! I wished the cheating was more involved.

Congratulations!

Thanks! We made sure whacking them felt good

Played the browser version. In spite of what the site says, the game looks very polished!
I think I skipped a lot of stuff since, as soon as I left my cell. I walked around for a bit, got two keys and got out of the asylum.

Great work!

I can't get past the second jump... ):

woah, great mood! I don't know if it was intended, but after I got sent back to the start once, I chose a different option than my first run: Then every new room it would repeat the same dialogue, something about choosing the same answers than before, over and over.

Still, I'm really glad I stumbled into it! Great work!

Nice lil cozy game! The music and the theme of working on the computer reminds me of Dispatch!

I don't know if this is intended, but is the trust score supposed to start at 87? It never changed during my playthrough. Good work!

same :(

Good strategy game! Some of the effects icons are very tiny, it's difficult to hover and see their effects. Also, I think the text emojis are broken to me, so that didn't help.

The game looks complex, I'm amazed you did it in a week, good job!

Played it till the end, it got me hooked right away!

If you fall down the bridge, to the right, there's a secret platform over the spikes. Use space bar to jump onto it and find a health potion on the other side of the wall

Hello! Yup, now it's working. That was a real quick bug fix, nice!

Very cute game! Congratulations on your first game jam!

Got a high score of 42!

I felt bad for the sheep tough...

Short and simple!

The audio, but mostly the visuals are great!

The game is really cute, but the game over screen makes me feel guilty I failed...

I got really confused at the start, I couldn't read what the little guy said. I can't full screen for some reason... And I didn't get it why I had to share my itch tag. I thought it was a tiny simple zelda like

Only after dying and scrolling down I figured the meta-concept.

HOLY MOLLY, insane idea for the jam, congratulations!

I'll definitely come back after I respawn...

The vibes of the game gave me goose bumps at the start, very good!

It's a bit slow and repetitive at the end (I stopped at day 5), it adds to the suspense though!

Took me a while to figure out how to decode, but that made me even more nervous!

Great Work!

First :P

Short but challenging!

Very fishy to control, 10/10

Tastiest pong ever!
