Sooo polished! 😮🔥 The card movement feels really satisfying and the pixel art looks great. I’d love a little more depth in the abilities, but overall really fuuun!
The Gameplay is solid. the audio could be a little louder but it works it gives me very pony island vibes which is good fun game overall
Visuals here are very polished, though some audio couldn't hurt. I would also discourage the use of mixels, though it's fully your choice! Gameplay is very smooth, and I enjoyed playing this one! Keep it up :D
This is quite the fun game! I enjoyed this one! It’s a little bit luck-based (unless you pay the Devil, which the whole point). Simple, straightforward, I think it has the potential to grow into something larger, to be honest with you. Great work here! I enjoyed this one! :)
I absolutely love the art! The GIF explains the game already quite well. I don't quite understand where the theme comes in. The eye button seems finicky. When you press it after the cards are revealed, it is useless; sometimes it shows up for half a second. The game doesn't really have a gaming aspect. Like, there are two abilities, and you don't really ever lose or start. The audio is quiet and is missing some music. You also need to press the place where you type in the bet, which is quite annoying and has no real reason other than a time constraint, I assume.
6/10, small, simple, but fun game.
Please make sure to send a review my way too if you have the time!
The artstyle and the polish of the cards is actual peak. I love the pixelated look a lot. It was also easy to understand unlike a lot of real life card game. Very nice job. It took me around 30s to understand what to do and it was pretty solid!
Thanks! I tried my best to make the cards satisfying to play and easy to distinguish. I'm really glad you liked the art and polish!
Nice. Could you rate my game too?
I like the style a lot!
I think it would've been nice to have a count of the cards left. Also idk if it's an actual deck of cards, so there's only a set number of each card like a real deck. Could be fun to make that known to the player if so!
No audio :C some nice card sfx would've really pulled the game together
A card count would actually be great. I remember thinking about adding one at some point, and I guess i just forgot about it. And yes, it is an actual 52-card deck + 2 jokers. I probably should have made it clearer in the game.
As for the audio, there is actually some. It might just be a bit too quiet. I was working late at night and didn't spend enough time balancing it properly.
Thank you for the feedback!
Satisfying card movement. Solid gameplay design. Ability is a bit expensive to use, I would rather have a turn cooldown for ability, that would allow for deeper strategies.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
I went with paid abilities to add a resource-management element. My original idea was to have a bills mechanic, similar to Papers Please, where you had to pay for all the abilities you used. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to implement it properly, so I decided to cut it from the jam version.
Very fun. Card play feels super polished. The money/ability system could have maybe used some more depth/variety.
Thanks!
I agree, the ability system definitely could use some more work and variety.
I'm glad you enjoyed the game anyway!
A very polished and complete game built with a solid gameplay loop, well done! I'd love to see more abilities that switch up the core gameplay loop a bit. Out of curiosity, does the cpu just pick the highest card in their hand every time or is it random?
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!
As for the CPU, it doesn't actually choose a card. At the start of each round, the deck is shuffled and split between the player and the opponent. So the opponent simply draws and plays the top card from it's deck.
Ayy another card game. This was really fun love the aesthetic and visuals and game feel are insane!
Thanks! I wanted to capture that classic card game aesthetic with the visuals, so I'm really glad you liked it!
The card mechanic alone deserves so much praise. You made it fun just to move cards around.
Thank you haha! I really enjoy doing little UI/UX details like that, so I'm really happy when people notice and appreciate them!
Amazing art! I found it such a simple yet fun game to play. random question but what font are you using?
Thanks! If you mean the in-game font, I'm using Tiny5 by Google Fonts.
this is a cool little game fits theme really well and visuals are also very nice, well done
Thank you! I wanted to get a bit creative with the theme, so i'm really glad you liked the game and the visuals!
The ui with the cards is so polished, very satisfying
Thanks! I'm glad you found them satisfying!
I thought the game itself was really fun. But I didn't feel too much of an incentive to use the abilities.
Thanks!
You have a point and I think the problem is that the core card game and the cheating system ended up too separate. And since player can win just by relying on luck, there isn't a strong reason to use the devil's abilities.
That is something I would really want to change. Thanks for the feedback!
Love the game itself, but i feel like the Theme is implemented in a way that makes it "not needed" like i was able to easily win rounds without using abilities.
I agree.
I also grew a bit dissatisfied with how It turned out in the end. But at that point it was too late to make major changes, so I had to stick with it.
Thank you for your feedback!
