This is my first time making a game and also my first game jam!

I made a psychological mystery visual novel where you wake up in a hospital and have to decide who you can trust.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone could give it a try and leave some feedback!

If you share your game below, I'll play yours too and leave feedback. :)

Thank you, and good luck with the jam everyone!

Great work, i really see a great series potential for the future, and i really liked the visual novel style! Good job

Submitted

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Your words mean a lot to me and really encouraged me!

Submitted

I thought the plot was too typical at first, but liked how it developed so much at the end with the surprising twist.

Here's my game: https://brookxii.itch.io/where-the-seeds-drift

Thank you so much for playing my game and for the feedback!
I played your game too! As someone who isn't a native English speaker, each level took me quite a while to figure out. I think it would be really helpful if a small hint could appear when a player stays on the same level for a long time, so they don't get stuck. I really enjoyed the game though! :)

Submitted

Thanks a lot for your feedback! I will keep the difficulty in mind as the development continues and will consider adding additional hints for each room to ensure the game remains fun!

Submitted

I like the idea, atmosphere and art style :) I did not know who or what to trust. Story is really good. I got the Refuse to Answer Achievement, and completed the night evaluation... nice

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game!

For your game, on my first run, I trusted some characters and didn't trust others. When I saw the chest, I still chose to trust it lol, and of course I got eaten by the mimic. I really liked the mimic animation,  it was so gooooood!  On my second try, I decided to trust absolutely no one, and I managed to beat the game pretty quickly. Nice game!

Submitted

ur visual novel is very well-designed and i absolutely love the art! the contradictions of what the role of xia might be is definitely following the theme of trust no one!

Thank u for your comment! I just played a few rounds of your game. At first, I got a jump when someone suddenly appeared lol. In one of the later rounds, I got a knife, but I couldn't find anyone to kill,  I ended up died, and rank 10/10.  On my last try, I survived for over 600 seconds and made it to 4th place. its quite interesting

Submitted

tysm for playing :D

很有趣!把所有结局都通了一遍(是三个吗?)之后对事实真相有了一点隐隐的猜测,很喜欢这种留有空白的感觉😊

Submitted

谢谢你把所有结局都玩了一遍!确实是三个结局哈哈哈。我本来的想法也是不把真相完全说清楚,留一些空间给大家自己想象!

Submitted

我更新了第四个结局!要是你想玩的话可以再去试试:D

Submitted

i just played your game!

i love it! love your art, the music and the story! i enjoy it! i got the "refuse to answer achievements". how many achievements are there? that possibilities made me wanna replay the game again! good game!

Submitted

Thank you so much!!:D
There are three achievements in total, one for each ending!

I played your game and I think the idea is really fun! I actually love collecting blind boxes in real life too haha.

if possible, it would be really cool to add different shaking sounds for each Labubu, since different figures might feel or sound slightly different when you shake the box, I think it could make the experience even more fun and realistic. Really cute concept, I enjoyed it:D

Submitted

thanks for playing my game! you are right about the different shaking sound, i think that should be easy enough. i'm gonna try to add that in today. thanks!

Nice game! The controls were pretty smooth, and the music was great too!

Submitted

Thanks so much bro!!!!

the art is amazing!
things i would improve:

- the buttons at the menu are hard to read
- the buttons in the game itself look different, i would make them the same style everywhere

other than that looks good :)

my game is here if you wanna check it out:

Thank you so much for the feedback and suggestions. I might not have enough time to make the changes before the jam ends, but I’ll definitely keep them in mind for future updates.

Your game is awesome!! The art, voice acting, UI, and everything else are sooo good!! Love it!!

Submitted

Well done on your first game submission! I loved the art style, music and story! Getting localization in Chinese and English in one week is not easy too! I got "the white coat fits" achievement :D

Some feedback:
- The text size can we small at times and difficult to read
- While this is a visual novel style and you want to share a story, sometimes there can be alot of clicking through the story and not many choices that have equal risk/reward outcomes for the player. You want to make the player feel like they had "just" barely survived the night shift (if that is your intention of course). That way it can feel rewarding at the end.

I assume you created the art this week? Very impressive!

Great job again!

Thank you so much for playing and for the detailed feedback!! Since there were only two of us working on the game, we spent a lot of our time on the art and story. I really like your suggestion about adding more meaningful choices for the player!

This is more of a small demo for now, so if people are interested in seeing more, I’d love to add more story and choices after the jam ends.

Thanks again for playing and for taking the time to leave such helpful feedback!!

I loved your game too! I left a comment on your game page:D

I really like the storyline and the art style , there's real potential here. Impressive for a first game!

Thank you so much!! So happy you enjoyed it.

Your game is amazing. I honestly can’t believe you managed to make something this polished in such a short amount of time. The music and atmosphere are so well done too. Seriously impressive!!

Left the comment, I like the feeling of tension the story creates, well done! Here's my game: https://latrai.itch.io/as-i-remember

Thank you so much!

I played your game and left a comment on your game page. I have to say again, I really love the clean visual style.

I had so much fun playing your game! My only complaint is that it was too short haha, I wanted to keep playing.

I like the art style and the plot twist, it's shocking me

Thank you so much!
I really like your game! I especially love the sound effects But I'm stuck on this level (Lastly, go to EXlT sign to win. Pretty simple right)right now, I just can't figure out how to get up there! (I wanted to post a screenshot, but I dont know why I cant post it here.)

Submitted

Let me guess, the one where the controls are inverted, right?

I give you hint :

1. To jump, just click

2. One of the spikes is the key

3. You can drag the tutorial bar by clicking and drag

Submitted

omg!! its soooooo interesting, I finally passed this level! I cant believe that the spike was so important and the exit was on another side. I love your game! btw, i think the button in the upper left corner is somewhat blocking the view. Maybe it could be moved a bit further to the left or made slightly smaller :)

Submitted

Also, I noticed one small issue, after pressing the jump button a lot, sometimes I couldn't jump anymore. Not sure if it's a bug.

Submitted

I really like this kind of style. I used to start with Ren'Py, but it was hard for me to work there, so I switched to Godot, so respect to you for that too.  Can I get a fib deck? Line of Trust by Bublik

Submitted

Thank you so much!! I was actually debating whether to use Ren'Py or Godot at the beginning too haha.

I played your game, I really like the concept, but I honestly had no idea who I was supposed to trust haha. When I enlarged the game window, I found the text a little too small to read clearly.

Also, I’m not sure if I misunderstood the rules. Does the answer have to be a combination of different numbers, or can the same number appear more than once? Everyone gave me a different number, so I entered them in order from top to bottom, but it still wasn’t correct 😭

Really cool idea though!

Submitted

Thanks for the feedback! I'm relatively new to game development, so I don't know how to make smart NPCs. I did it like this: each NPC has a variable that represents honesty. At first, the honesty % is high, but it can go down or up depending on your relationship with them. You can use different strategies. If both of them give you the same numbers, someone is lying. Or if someone names your number, they're also lying. You have to figure out the password by the method of elimination.

Submitted

thank you , your game is really good and has a great concept!

I played your game. Cool game and great concept!

Wait, is having literally no game on the page your way of fitting the "Trust No One" theme, or did you just delete the build / forget to upload it?

Hope you don't mind, but I'd also like to share my own game with you if you want to check it out: https://owlbn.itch.io/focus-bell

Submitted

I just updated the page with a new build! It should be showing up now.

Submitted

I played your game and left a comment on your game page:D

Great work for so short time! I really like your hand-drawn style.

Thank you!!
I'd love to try your game too, but I'm on Mac. Are you considering making a web version or adding a Mac build?

Submitted

Hey! I have no experience with that, but I'll try! Hope it isn't really hard.

Submitted

Hey! Mac build is out. Enjoy being my first player.

I just played your game. I really like the art style, it looks really nice!

Just a couple of small suggestions: I think it would be helpful to introduce the movement controls and explain how to interact with the animals at the beginning of the game.

It would also be nice if we could choose when to talk to the animals instead of automatically triggering the dialogue when we touch them. Or maybe they could have something new to say when we interact with them a second time!

Overall, nice work! :)

Submitted

Thank you! It Is good idea, but I was trying to make it as simple as possible to make it. But thanks for the feedback.

Hey I really liked the ambience of your game, and the art style is really clean!

Here's a game me and my buddies made if you want to check it out: /jam/brackeys-16/rate/494757

A small pitch:

"The end of the world is here, but no one seems to trust that you're sane. Convince the town of Wyoming that you've got your head straight. Lead these sheep to the truth, because nobody can be trusted to do so, but you..."

Submitted

Thank you!!
I'd love to try, but I'm on Mac. Are you considering making a web version or adding a Mac build?
