How does the game fit the theme?
You cannot trust other Ships, there may be shape shifter spies onboard who will sabotage your vessel if you trust them
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All SFX and Music, I also used some shaders from GodotShaders
How many people worked on the game?1

jumping the defiant onto the first node and hailing a drone that just says please leave now, then deciding whether to trust that or take its scrap, is a neat little ftl loop, and those huge animated pixel planets behind every encounter look great. solid work
had fun playing this, great job on the jam! First play through I went in blind and died pretty quick, but after reading the guide it made a lot more sense and I was able to deliver the bio weapon :D
This is really polished! The animation and the sound effects are satisfying to interact with, and having the animated planets in the background adds to the experience. The reimagined mechanics are fun and work great for the theme too. Awesome game!
Nice classic game concept fitting the jams theme here. Sometimes I felt like some info was missing to determine if combat was a possible option to win or not. Is there any reason I should not always try to talk to the enemy first? I always tried and then because of the response knew if i had to attack anyway. The core game loop works nicely though and I had a few attempts :)
Thank you for playing my game and taking the time to comment!
If I am being honest I didn't even think about consequences for always talking, that would have added for more interesting decisions.
I was trying to get some form of combat stats to make it easier to figure out your chances but I unfortunately was unable to get around to it.
Hey, the gameplay loop were really satisfying with attacking other ships and using their scrap to upgrade your own. However, I wish more information was available in game in the form of tooltips which saves a trip to the main menu to look at the guide. Cool game! It makes me want to play FTL.
Thank you I am glad you found it satisfying! I would have loved to make tooltips but I genuinly just cant wrap my head around how to make it work properly in godot! It is probably simple but yea ahaha
I love the map which reminds me of Slay the Spire, and the space aesthetic! It's definitely creative and fun!
Thank you I am glad you liked it!
Nice! i like the target priority. maybe the first time i see something like that.
Thank you!
Very cool game, was only slightly confused by the scrap. Really liked the visuals, and good choice of music and SFX.
Impressive that you created this game by yourself!
I am glad you liked my game! The scrap and game economy was the last thing on my list and I unfortunately ran out of time.
Really fun maybe a bit easy. The planets where a great pick. Looked great and improved on the atmosphere. It was satisfying to see scrap and hp go up so if the other stats where easier track it would scratch that rogue like itch better.
I am glad you enjoyed! I had initially planned to add shops and purchase upgrades and a stats screen but unfortunately ran out of time. I just couldn’t get the stats screen looking right! As I am using quite a primitive procedural generation for the worlds balance was quite difficult to work on. Thank you for all the feedback!
I really liked the atmosphere, the music, the planets design, and the fact that it’s easy to understand (but hard to beat!). That said, I think there’s way too much FTL in it :-) I know it was announced, but I would have liked to see some other UI assets (and not recognize so many from FTL). Well done, though, on this solo entry!!
I am glad you enjoyed my game! I initially tried to use very different icons but I couldn’t quite come up with good and readable designs other then what I ended up with for Generator, Sensor, Shields. So for the sake of ease of access for this game jam I landed on the icons I have.
The planets in the background are so visually stunning!
I feel like the game could do with a more natural type of tutorial or buildup while playing, as there was a lot to read.
I wasn't entirely sure how much scrap things cost, so that is something that could be improved, a simple number on hover could probably do the trick. Overall a cool experience!
Thank you so much!!
I fully agree that a tutorial kinda thing would have been a good addition, It would have been there if I had more time. I was too chilled as I normally do smaller duration jams so I am usually pressing every hour but I just kept palming off a "tomorrow job" for this one ahahah. I defintly agree that scrap on hover would have worked really well.
