The art is amazing, but I think it definitely deserves more. For games where you have to deduce things, I find it's best to have three different ways to notice, and preferably a mix of audio and visual. I feel like if it would've had maybe some telling animation or sounds, that would've really made this.
Thanks! Yeah it def needs way more back and forth dialogue, and more just interaction in general as now its very flat. We may make this into a full game someday so we will see!
It's beautifully written and illustrated; the art direction is stunning—very old-school in the best sense of the word. On the other hand, the game design left me wanting a little more. I didn't quite understand how to distinguish between truths, half-truths, and lies. Still, I enjoyed discovering this game! Congrats.
Thank you! There MAY be a logic error in the code i missed, but i cant edit the game until the jame is finished. There should be enough information with the evidence the other characters tell you, but if we make this into a full game I will totally redo the dialogue system and everything from the ground up to make it much much more of a natural back and forth interaction and make it more clear on what you are doing.
The art is some of the best in this jam! I like the vibe.
Thank you so much!
Some of the best art I've seen in this game jam, but I do find the gameplay itself to be a little lackluster. Guessing whether the character is telling the truth or not feels very trial-and-error, like there's no way to really tell if someone's telling the truth or not unless you played it before. Am I missing something to the game?
Thank you! There might be a logic error in the code i need to fix once jam is over, and although technically the evidence gives u all the clues you need, if we turn this into a full game the dialogue will be MUCH more back and forth and like a full proper game, cause i agree there is alot lacking there
Very nice art, I wish I could make art this beautiful, personally not a fan of game with just dialogues, but regardless I enjoyed the story and the music fitted everything perfectly, very well done
Thank you! Yeah, I get that dialogue-heavy, visual novel-type games are def not everyone's cup of tea. If we choose to make this into a full game, we are considering still doing all the visual novel-style dialogue, but that is just on top of a 3d or 2d exploration game, so we will see what happens!
Great art and story! But is it really possible to tell who's lying without knowing the world's lore? And if I'm to trust no one, why should I trust witnesses, who might lie or be mistaken?
Thank you! Yes, it is possible, though there might be a logic error with the stone giant i cant fix until jam is over. Though if we make this into a proper full game i will redo all the entire dialogue system anyways to make it much more natural and back and forth and easier to deduce etc.
I liked it a lot! Maybe because I'm a D&D nerd but I enjoyed it, I love the art too, great job!
Thank you!!!
The art here is out of this world. If I could rate it 6/5 stars, I would.
Thank you so much!
The art is beautiful! It would be cool to see these characters come to life in a more interactive game.
If we decide to go ahead with a full game there will DEF be way more interaction and stuff, thank you!
Wow massive work on the art for sure - it feels like I was reading a visual novel. I think it would be nice to make the passage a bit bigger/easier to consume in chunks. Overall you guys are great storytellers :)
The story and art is all thanks to my lovely wife! And I agree, I need to vastly polish the dialogue system; it's kinda janky haha. I am glad you enjoyed it!
The art is definitely a masterpiece. It’s incredible that this was achieved in just one week. I really liked the story short, simple, and it fits the jam perfectly. Great work!
Thank you! It was quite a learning experience because this was our first game jam and prototype ever. I am so grateful for all the positive feedback and responses.
really good art prob one of the best in the jam , sadly its not really my style of games , still amazing games
That's ok! We appreciate the time to give us a comment, and I'm glad you enjoyed the art :)
Beautiful artwork and a compelling story. Great job!
Thank you!
I absolutely loved the art, amazing work! I really want to play a game set in this world you drew. Grats on shipping!
Thank you! I am very much considering turning it into a full visual novel, or even a game beyond that, but still keeping all these visual novel elements, so we'll see!
BEAUTIFUL game, actually just gorgeous! Keep making more! Although my deduction skills are apparently not so up to par, I had a great time reading the stories and trying to figure out the puzzle! Great work :)
thank you!! Keep trying haha, and in future if we make a full version of this I will definitely make the whole deduction and dialogue much more fleshed out
The artwork is stunning; the music fits with it really well; the writing is very illustrative; amazing work!❤️
I'm glad you enjoyed it ❤️
Beautiful art. The game is simple but fits the theme.
Thank you! If we ever make this into a full game we'd definitely flesh out all the interactions back and forth and dialogue system
wowee! this is the most beautiful game jam game i have ever seen. great work!
Thank you so much!!
Just finished playing, I might have to give it another go, I did not get to speak to the dragon :(
