How does the game fit the theme?
Everything and everyone has turned into a mimic, leaving nothing and no one to trust, not even yourself!
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All code and assets were made by me in the Pico 8 game engine.
I reused a few bits of code from previous games of mine with some minor changes, namely for things like the dialogue boxes and collision.

This is a super fun experience, I love having to second guess myself and every action that I will be making. I like the 8 bit styled music and I love the art style of the game, it gives me vibes to a game boy game.
Well done man, by a solo developer in a week it is so cool.
Very fun and funny, well done!
What a great game. Had a good time with this one. The story was well done and love the rage game elements.
Well done, I liked the concept. It was fun through trial and error, to figure out which ones are mimics. Then laughing when I was 100% certain, no this one can't be a mimic. Also its cool to see a Pico-8 game in the jam.
Love the concept! Great work doing this in Pico8 as well!
I couldn't figure out how to get past the car mimic. Skidmark/10
That’s unfortunate, if you want to try again, there’s a walkthrough on the itch page that you can watch if you get stuck.
Really funny concept. Simple art style but effective. Good job!
Very fun to play! Feels a bit like 'Trees hate you' but in pixelart style. Loved it!

Of course! I’ve got a bit of a backlog, but I’ll try to get around to yours soon. Thanks for the feedback!
SPOILER: Even the planet is a mimic! Wow! What if... the game itself is also a mimic, running on a system that mimics a retro game console?
A really cool and short game, combining comedy with horror. Very Well made !
I like how the game builds the horrific atmosphere quite well by making the world look normal yet unsettling enough with the mix of the graphics & the audio. Despite everything looking normal, the music just felt silent and foreboding enough which helps establish the fear that you might run into a mimic.
The game is also quite fun and forgiving! I like how you can restart each part really easily while also not giving away too much hints, allowing the player to really try and explore/interact with everything around them. Good job!
Thanks for all the feedback! Good to hear you enjoyed.
Bravo, the game delivers a great horror experience and features good storytelling.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed.
Very glad to have save points on this one aha.
Loved the use of the pico 8 style. An impressive amount of potential death animations haha. The gameplay by it's nature was obviously a little trial and error, but as mentioned the save points and quick restart were a great choice. Sound was fitting and it was cool to see the full story arc play out. It goes without saying but i'm also a fan of the theme ;)
Great work all up!
Thanks for the feedback! I’m glad you liked it and hope the trial and error parts weren’t too annoying.
Edit: A fellow mimic enjoyer, I see!
Hilarious to die in such silly ways. The font was really hard to read.
Yeah, it’s sort of a consequence of using Pico 8 that the font isn’t super readable sometimes, so I’m sorry that impacted your experience. Glad you liked it otherwise though!
This game is really good, a perfect bite sized game.I really liked the story and the dialogue after you died
Happy to hear you enjoyed.

I love this! Absolute cinema. I went a similar direction but more spot the difference. The intro is super cute, amazing job!
Thanks! Happy you enjoyed!
That's such a unique take on the theme. Great game!
Loved the game! Perfect for theme.
