I really enjoyed playing through this! I really like the pixel art and the concept of some fish lying while others tell the truth is cool. I also made a fish game, and I enjoy seeing more fish games in the jam. Good work!
Even though this doesn't have music (which I prefer having), the sound effect of you moving around is so oddly satisfying hahaa. For your first game jam submission this is very polished!! (it is my team's first as well lol) I could see how you could expand on this idea and I hope you do!! Congrats :)
I am now 21th ratinggg
I WAS THE 20th RATING, your welcome!
Such a cute little game!!
It's small, but it feels really polished! I love the strong yellow and blue color contrast, and I especially love how the little fish moves around like a tiny submarine XD
The only thing I wish is that there was more content! I'd love to see more levels and maybe even different kinds of fish in the future!!
Really cute and fun game!!
Thanks, i brainstormed for 10 minutes and got these ideas :) i was thinking of a platformer, the sprites where 16x16 because i cant find a font with the res i want at the scale of 32x32, so i did 16x16 for the first time, so when i was making the character base i made the walkling animation, it liiked like a fan, then i got the submarine idea, and i couldn’t find ideas for other deceiving fish that are not repetitive and the name i got it at sleep
short but neat little game! pretty charming!
I won! short simple game. some music would have been nice :)
The game is truly flawless, both in terms of its visual style and the way the fish handles. The movement feels very satisfying. The game remains very simple but stays true to the theme.
Nice work! It might have been better with some twists or using the mechanics much more earlier to expand game design and time. The sound of bubbles was also very satisfying, suitable for therapy.
A very charming little game. Congratulations on your first ever jam game. I hope it's the first of many more to come.
The bubbles sound effect while you move is very satisfying too. Really well chosen.
its very charming, i thought that tool tip at the end was going to get me killed by making me stand too close to the explosion
The game is super cool
The movement is very satisfying! good job :)
Stayed a while making the movement feel underwater but not annoying
The game fits the theme very well. I like its simple gameplay and its consistent visual style.
thanks
There's actually impressive and cool elements in this, like for gameplay its the smooth progression and some out of the ordinary systems like equipping and stuff. And for art is the giant background with parallax, its just perfect. The vibe is spot on, it would be really nice with music. But for the font, I think it might be too w i d e, makes it a bit hard to read in fullscreen, haha. Really nice job!
Thanks, i don’t know how to make good music and generally don’t add music to my games. I didn’t expect others to see that the bg is good, i mean it is rushed because the vertical parallax is hard to do. And for the font i didn’t find much fonts that are 8 and 16 pixels high to avoid all kinds of mixel.s
Is this your first game? I'm using godot too! Good luck!
Not first, but first game jam. I didn’t do game dev a lot since I am still a 12th grader and play games more. But this is my first jam and first full game that has a story. The other ones are either experiments or simple mobile games just to kill time
yeah its my first game and jam too
First 5 seconds of ur game and I felt like I found a diamond in the haystack. First of all forget the objective of the game just the movement and art made me smile. Your game is inspiring. It reminds me that simpler is better. I loved the sound, the movement of the submarine. Played through the end because genuinely enjoyed it. It reminds me of why I love games even though there wasn't a story or a reason why you were stuck. I think just the vibe and atmosphere was super comforting. Great great job with the mechanic
Thanks for the comment, always trying to do my best as a non- professional individual dev
