How does the game fit the theme?
The little blotches you hire to help you finish your painting sometimes turn on you. It could be any one of them. It could be all of them. I wouldn't trust any of them, honestly.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Really good! loved the looks and the color mixing theme. Good job on making this game!

A really unique and satisfying idle game! The controls are very simple, but the gameplay is incredibly relaxing and surprisingly addictive. Before I knew it, half an hour had already gone by.

The visuals feel fresh and clean while still having a lot of impact, and there’s also a great amount of attention to detail. I’d love to see a more complete version in the future. This game honestly feels like it would be a great fit for Steam!

I loved it.

I’m a big fan of clicker games, and this one is really relaxing, with all those colours and the way the village gradually develops. I know I’ll come back to play it when I’ve got a bit more time. The link to the jam’s theme seems a bit tenuous to me, but never mind – it’s a great game!!

Thanks, you have to read the story to really get the theme, the rogues are there for like an early hint at the thing, but it's a bit of a narrative clicker.  And it'd be hammered home with the endings. (mostly short text, but  thematic).

Yes, after a few games, I definitely felt that!

I BEAT THE WHOLE GAME WITHOUT A SINGLE HELPY GUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I absolutely love this game, if it wins instead of me, I'll be disappointed, but I'll understand, and know exactly why!)

Developer(+1)

We've both already won. We've had players and feedback.

Buuuut, I hate to break it to you, if you didn't get a blotch to help you, you didn't get rogues, and without rogues  giving you their story, you didn't get the good ending :P

Submitted

yeah, I did that after beating the game afterward (and when I mean win, I'm referencing being in the brackeys video, which has been a dream of mine for ages) thanks so much for this amazing experience!!! ( I kinda broke my fingers playing it tho... (I'm a clicker addict i think.))

Man this is a really relaxing game! Well donee

The game really draws you in from the start. I absolutely love the visuals, the click feedback, the animations — everything flies, shakes, the screen trembles. The polish is top-notch.

However, around the middle, I ran into a problem: the paint on buildings that I thought I had already cleaned started disappearing on its own. I didn't understand why this happens or how to deal with it. I didn't have enough droplet production to compensate for this leakage, and it felt like an unfair mechanic. Intuitively, you'd think that once you've upgraded a building to all 4 levels, it becomes fully clean and you can move on to the next ones — but apparently that's not the case.

Still, my overall impression was formed in the first few minutes, and it's extremely positive. Maybe I just misunderstood the mechanics. I'd be grateful if you could explain how to properly play through the game. Thank you!

Developer

Yeah, the rogues were stealing from you. If you popped them, they'd give it back and more, but I agree. The update I have planned for after this jam is over will make it so they can't drain any tiers that have been unlocked, or any fully unlocked buildings. And the rogues will start dropping a bit more to be noticeable, so the player can decide if it's worth keeping them around a bit longer. Hopefully those combined will address your issue there and make it feel more fair, while retaining the "they're going rogue, must pop them" feel.

Thanks for playing and the feedback!

Really fun, loved the vibe and ended up playing it for a while.

The game is very interesting; I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it. It's very entertaining to play; I could easily spend a lot of time on it.

The only suggestion I would make is that the narrative/dialogue text be enclosed in subtitles, as the red plop's dialogue overlaps with the lake where you interact, making it easy for anyone to lose track of the narrative, which is quite intriguing. Otherwise, it's a fantastic piece of work.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I think post jam I'll have a fix up that should make the dialogue and text boxes better to deal with.

I love the visuals/audio/entire vibe of the game. Super fun!

great story!

This was a satisfying game to play! All the 'juice' when clicking, picking things up, etc. makes everything feel good and rewarding! I certainly loved the chill and relaxing atmosphere, had me hooked for decent while!

The visuals and audio are great, and the gameplay is pretty nice, I enjoyed getting more buffs from upgrading my buildings and seeing all my numbers go up.

The blobs are a little bit of a pain to deal with though, after some time I just stopped hiring them because they were all bound to go rogue eventually.

I certainly enjoyed playing this game, good work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback. I gave the rogues a little boost of returning resources when popped, so they're worth it. But yeah, I've got a post-jam patch in the works that'll adjust them a bit. Balance them out more by limiting what they can steal and giving a bit more of a resource boost.
