How does the game fit the theme?
Every piece on the board is identical, and one of them is wearing your own
moves as a disguise — while it can see you, it copies exactly what you just
did. So the crowd cannot be trusted.
But neither can you. The thing that gets you caught is your own trail: the
longer you stand and watch someone, the more you expose yourself, and when
the meter fills the mimic stops pretending and comes for you. And you only
get two accusations, so trusting a hunch too early ends the run just as
fast as never trusting one.
Trust no one — including your own reading of the board.

A very creative and unique game! The visuals are simple, but the gameplay has a surprising amount of depth and replayability. It took me a little while to figure out how everything worked, but once I got the hang of it, I had a lot of fun.
I’d love to see more variety and design put into the characters in the future!

Really innovative game! I really enjoyed how simple it was yet difficult. The fact that the mimic copies your movements made me think that it would be relatively easy but it turned out to be quite difficult with the amount of pieces blocking the mimic, as well as tracking all the random pieces moving around. Really cool.
second game to have so many 5 stars, realy creative take on the theme, aplication and development of an interesting gameplay loop!

I game almost all 5 stars. my 600 elo ass cannot comprehend this but i did find the mimic sometimes. The music, visuals and sounds are REALLY good.

This was pretty fun. I like the visuals and the movement in the game felt fluid. I'm not much of a chess player, but I still got a kick out of it.

As a chess player this immediately caught my attention. This game is one of my favorites from this jam so far. Really cool concept and interesting gameplay. It really challenges you to be attentive and precise. Also the visual and sound design is really good.

Very quick and clever game. Everything felt polished and the idea was fun! I am biased towards liking the theme haha. The escalation of difficulty was interesting, the shrinking of the influence circle / amount of moves really did make force you to think about where you were going. Great work!
