How does the game fit the theme?
Customers may lie about their food preferences for hidden personal reasons, so the player has to figure out who they can actually trust. Customers pay based on how well the food matches their true preferences, not necessarily what they claimed they wanted. Sometimes they lie, sometimes they tell the truth, and the player must use their own judgment to figure out what each customer really wants.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Fonts and a few sounds

I really love the art style and looks of this game!
This game is a masterpiece, 10/10 for everything. LOVED IT!❤️
Wow! Just wow. Loved the art, the animations, the little effects as you interacted with things. It's amazing. Though I question the recipes (microwave to make ketchup?) and why they'd lie, I do love that you actually had a system to figure out who's lying or not. I think the only real improvements that could be made would be maybe having some insight visually on how much you earned so far, versus your debt (to drive home the story), and maybe a little variety on the testing if they're lying. Sure, they might mostly order corn dogs, but maybe they really want to mix it up today, doing that with some visual clue or something? I dunno, just a thought on how to vary it up to be more than check the tablet all the time. Still, amazing game!
Thank you so much! yeah we wanted to clean up the lying system and flesh out how npc interactions worked as well with visual cue's but both me and the programmer hit a few snags when it came to development, but i'm hoping we can work on it more after the jam ദ്ദി( ˘̀ ֊ ˘́)
Damn! This game is dripping with style! The gameplay is simple but executed well, The music suits the game loop, and the art???? shut up. PLUS it's on theme. Really well done, especially for a game jam.
I feel so happy thanks to you all!!(,,>ヮ<,,)
The game is super pretty. I like that kind of style where everyhing is slowly moving, like it's layer based. And it's totally go along with the mood and the pacing of the game which make it more cohesive !
Well done !
Feel free to test our game ! (it's about food also, in a different pacing ahah)
This game is so pretty! Love all of the character designs, and the environment!
i don't like it when they lie >:(
fantastic visuals! i love the atmosphere and I can't say no to some hyperrealistic animal heads. A little hard to pick up on which customers are lying initially but after some time I could map some claims as true and some as false (though some orders still felt like a tossup). Overall very fun!
That’s just brillian! I hate building UIs, but yours… I just couldn’t stop playing, because it felt good to move things around, serve the clients, watching the microwave…
If you don’t mind, i’d like to take this game as reference for future projects lol
very well polished!! and the art is just so good!!
unless im missing something my only gripe is how the gameplay boils down to check the tablet to see what they actually want and just make it, maybe instead of the tablet, visual hints on the character sprites would have worked better? and perhaps a few more variety in the dialogue, other than that very amazing looking game and very nicely polished!
Hey, thanks for playing! :) We actually planned to balance the dialogue clues and tablet clues more properly, but we ran into some development issues with that system towards the end, so it ended up leaning a bit too much toward the tablet.
We’re planning to update it after the jam and bring it closer to what we originally intended, including more dialogue variety and making the clues feel more naturally integrated.
Really appreciate the feedback, and glad you enjoyed the polish and art!
An incredibly well-polished game! Really liked the artwork, the audio design and the music too! Just that some information was too long and got covered by the tablet.
Thanks for playing! Yeah, I agree, some of the information was a bit too long and could exceed the screen. We will update it after the jam to make the UI feel more natural and cleaner, rather than just having blocks of text :)
Love seeing the variety of customers showing up! I did pretty well on my run, but I relied too much on the tablet which definitely a bit of a skill issue heh. I really enjoyed this, good job!
Huge work! I can't point out anything in particular - the game is entirely cool!
I love the gritty otherworldly art style. The "gotcha" when a customer lied about what they wanted was surprisingly fun. Great job!
Great audio and visuals. Loved the art style. The game had a nice challenge, and I felt rewarded when I was able to remember recipes and preferences.
Had a lot of fun with this game! I really enjoyed the characters in this game but you definitely cant trust their orders, though. I liked the dark and gritty visuals, really cool! It does get a tiny bit repetitive with some recurring characters , but still fun nonetheless!
The visuals are terrific, the game is really beautiful. The gameplay is ok although the moving camera effect isn't necessary imho and doesn't combine well with the lag I have on the web version.
I have somewhat of a questioning on your interpretation of the theme. It works for gameplay, but I'm a bit confused by the message it delivers : make people food you think they will like rather than what they ask for. It's not the behavior I would expect from my next-door fast food place to get something else than what I ordered, without my consent. Maybe a way to fix that would be to be able to suggest other dishes, based on what we learn about the characters (ideally with higher price, but also some we know we make them feel better, their favorite item, etc.). I think that would give the player a better role than trying to guess what the character want and being shouted at when just cooking the requested dish.
There is definitely some potential here, good job !
Loved the early 90s pixel art PC vibe, it was really well done!
I liked characters, especially Shark. Best visuals i've seen so far
Cool! I really like the atmosphere and the characters. It would be interesting to see some kind of progression system so you could make a wider variety of dishes. Keep it up!
