How does the game fit the theme?
Unpredictable Enemies: Dead bodies look harmless, but you never know when one will awaken as a zombie and attack.
Unreliable Tools: You can buy tools to inspect the corpses. You can never fully trust your gear feel safe.
A Greedy Merchant: Even the shopkeeper takes advantage of you, constantly hiking up item prices and forcing you to pay just to move on to the next graveyard.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Audio / Sound Effects: Royalty-free music and sound effects obtained from Pixabay (except for the main menu soundtrack, which I composed myself).
Packages: Standard Unity TextMeshPro package for Ui fonts/text.
Code & Art: All game code, mechanics, and 2D art assets were created completely from scratch during the event

I was kind of confused as to what I was supposed to be looking for with a lot of the items, but the concept is interesting! Good job!
Really interesting and unique concept for the theme and gameplay. Very unsettling atmosphere too. Good work on the attempt!
Had to read the comments... Took me a while to figure out the van situation; I realized the player was the red dot that you move around. Once I figured that out, the game loop of robbing graves, paying the dude and shopping was quite enjoyable! (Though I wasn't sure what to do with the items I purchased, I was invested in the lore..) Also the jump scare got me, haha! You made a nice unsettling vibe with the breathing and the corpse robbing. Would be interested in seeing it developed further.
Thank you so much for your comment, and I hope you'll keep an eye out for the upcoming update!
the idea is good but it needs better visuals espessialy the ui
Interesting idea. I had to read the comments to realize that I need to push the X at the beginning to get to the cemetery. I was able to run around and get a few items.
Cool game , i really like the feel of it, a unique take to the theme and i love that, but i couldn't move forward with the game because whatever i do the red eye thing would kill me. Can you give me a solution?
If you don’t have enough money to pay the fee, the seller will eliminate you. To be able to see the cemetery, you must first leave the seller’s truck. The button to exit is located on the same screen where the ‘Shop’ and ‘Deliver’ options appear. It’s an ‘X’ that allows you to leave the truck and access the cemetery
oooooooooh now i get it
Cool game! Good job! :]
Pretty good game I really liked it.
Cool concept, but as some people already said, the art could be improved a lot.
I didn't like the inventory how it opened (where the mouse was), maybe a set position would be better ?
I liked the concept, didn't see smth like this until now
Thank you very much for your comment. Of course, I'll take everything you've told me into consideration for the future update.
In general, all the issues I ran into have already been found by other people judging by the comments. But overall, the potential and the concept of the game are excellent! You just need to fix certain minor issues with the graves and the shop menu. To be honest, it took me a little bit of time to realize there was actually more to the game than just the shop. I will definitely check back in a couple of days to update my rating and review if you manage to fix these things. You are moving in the right direction, keep it up!
Thanks for your feedback. The problem is that I can't update the game until the jam is over, so the update will come after the jam ends. Believe me, I'm working on fixing the bugs that people have pointed out to me. The feedback I've received has been a huge help.
definitely could use some better artistic direction. I also could not figure out how to exit the grave menu after collecting the items. I watched a bit of the video on the side though, and that jumpscare definitely would've got me lol
I'm probably doing this wrong, but I am unable to play this? The money I have initially is 5k, I buy enough items to completely fill the inventory and then I choose 'deliver'. I reply 'yes' at do you have the drop and the eye turns red and I die. When I try to play again my money is 0. I am, however, able to buy stuff with 0 money so idk what's happening. I have tried using the materials I buy on the main screen monster before clicking yes. I still keep dying before even entering the game? I saw the attached video, so I'm sure something needs to be done to enter the actual game, but I am unable to find out what I'm supposed to do.
Thank you so much for you observation. It's definitely a very serious issue that I hadn't realized, and thanks for noticing it. What's happening is that every time you die, the counter doesn't reset, and that's the problem. Okay, and the issue is that when you pay the drop what it you don't, it will eliminate you. The point of the game is to go the shop, buy items, and use those items to loot tombs. But I think I made a big mistake by having the shopkeeper be the first thing you see. thank you very much for clarifying, and I really appreciate your comment. I definitely have a lot to improve.
The creepy visual style and unsettling audio build a surprisingly solid horror atmosphere—the jump scares actually landed! The concept behind "Fake Body" shows a lot of genuine potential for a solo first jam submission.
A few key areas to focus on when you push your post-jam update:
- Intro & UI Controls: Keep the control instructions on screen longer or add a pause menu so players aren't confused by drop-downs (like closing coffin inventory with right-click).
- Tutorial & Objective: Add a quick, clear tutorial or visual cues to guide players on what the end goal actually is.
- Canvas Scaling: Double-check the web canvas settings so player stats/money aren't cut off on different screen resolutions.
Good luck refining it further! If you have a free minute, I'd really appreciate your thoughts on my jam entry as well: /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4953523
Thank you very much for you feedback. I definitely have a lot to improve. For my first jam, I'm getting good comments, and I really appreciate them. And by the way, speaking of your game, I enjoyed it a lot. It's amazing that you made everything all by yourself.
thank you for your comment, I would like you to follow me since at the end of the jam I will release a remaster of the game that will exponentially improve the experience and I would like you to try it
Well definitely not the best looking game, but the Idea was actually original and interesting! I'd suggest you to make sure to finish the game as it already is showing its potential!
the audio is very unsettling and when a zombie jumpscared me it gave me a fright. however, i am unable to exit coffins (as the item selection are blocking it). i slightly do get the game objective but i wish it was a bit more clearer. and also, i think some of the visuals and ui could be polished. overall, i do see a lot of potential in this game!
But the object selection is a drop-down menu, you close it with a right-click. What happens is that the control instructions appear at the start of the game because I didn't have time to put them, let's say, in a pause button xD.
ohhhhh i didnt realise mb mb, it was going too fast for me to process xD
I was actually really startled during my first game. One thing that did spoil my experience a bit was that the canvas didn’t fit on my screen, so I couldn’t see my money or my other stats. But I had a good time for a while it’s a good idea.
That's weird, I thought I had set up the canvas scale properly. Thanks for letting me know!
The game dfinitely needs some polish. I don't mean the art style which might actually works well if you're going for a horror vibe; but rather the core mechanics and UI. Since the end goal isn't very clear, a quick tutorial is definitely needed to guide the player. Still, for a first jam submission, this is a really solid effort and I can tell how much work went into it. Good luck on your indie dev journey
Thank you very much for you feedback. I'll keep it in mind when I release an update for Fake Body. Good luck to you as well, my friend!
I see it is a little unfinished, and tutorial, proper visuals and some gameplay loop would help a lot. But otherwise, good result for a on person in a week jam.
Sure, there's always room for improvement
I like the concept, but it's a bit confusing to understand what i'm supposed to do. I completely agree with SunGDark. I think you should finish it with a tutorial and all for sure!
Yeah, for sure, it could definitely be improved, and thanks for your feedback, by the way
This game has a lot of potential. I think the concept and gameplay are really interesting, but I'm still not sure what to do exactly. Maybe the little info screen at the start explains everything, but it goes away before I can read it. My favorite part is the art; I wish there was more.
