Funny, but clever game! Had fun time playing!
It really has this vibe of what early browser games had. Simple but enjoyable:)
I appreciate that you can play the game using only keyboard - games often rely too much on the mouse and it can be annoying sometimes. I also liked the catch that you need to remember to collect the money before they leave!
As for feedback, I am not familiar with those dishes names so it would be nice to have their names written down below them or something like that. One more thing you could do is to have some kind of progression where you unlock new dish types for money - I believe that could make it quite engaging!
Overall, fun and simple game:D
Really fun game!!! I absolutely love the idea of having all the positions mapped to different keys on the keyboard XD
It took me a little while to get used to it at first, but once I got the hang of it, it became really fun! Surprisingly, it actually felt even smoother and more intuitive than using a mouse XD
If you ever add more tables or different kinds of food in the future, it could also be really fun to let players decide which keys they want to assign them to! And if the game eventually ends up with a TON of food and a TON of tables... it would become absolute chaos XDDD
Really fun and creative control scheme!! I’d love to see how crazy this could get with even more things to manage! :D
Really appreciate the detailed feedback! I’d absolutely love to see how far this weird keyboard-world idea could be pushed.
Like you said, if i add 10 tables and 20 different dishes… the KEYBAORD ITSELF BECOMES THE FINAL BOSS 😂⌨️
I hoped you didn’t mind the blaring horns…well the traffic noise was intentionally part of the atmosphere, I wanted it to feel like you’re actually working at a chaotic roadside Punjabi dhaba with horns, vehicles and everything happening around you.
It’s like highway Orchestra that took whole 1 day to get it right in the game!
Your comment makes me REALLY happy because that’s exactly what I was hoping would happen :- after the initial “what the hell am I doing?” moment, the keyboard layout starts feeling surprisingly natural!
Pretty easy to understand what to do immediately. Interesting gameplay, ive never seen anything like this before, very unique. Good job!
Ahh… it makes me very happy that you loved the keyboard-world concept ⌨️
I am trying to make the keyboard feel like part of the game world / Dhaba (an Indian roadside resteraunt) Also, don’t trust the customers… they are all eating, smiling, and quietly disappearing without paying. 😂💸
Love that the game in on the keyboard, that feels fantastic. The game would benefit from a tutorial, It took me a few trys to figure out what i was doing and I'm still not sure i got it right since i kept burning food. Very creative game, great job!
Thank you!! 😂 The fact that you loved the keyboard-world concept makes me very happy! ⌨️
And yes… the tutorial is definitely something I need to improve. 😂 The burning food is apparently teaching players the hard way.
Although honestly, while you were figuring out the cooking system… I hope you were also watching the customers closely. 👀 Because some of those sneaky little guys are absolutely capable of eating, smiling, and quietly disappearing without paying. 😂💸
Just played and rated your game!
It was pretty fun to play only with keyboard!!
Such a unique concept...
Overall really liked it! Great work
Thank you!! Really glad the keyboard-only gameplay worked for you! That’s exactly the weird little QWERTY framework I wanted to try,
the idea is to make the keyboard feel like part of the game world rather than just some input system 😂⌨️
And most importantly… I hope you caught those customers quietly slipping away without paying. 😂💸
And with that… let’s talk about your game… you absolute Devil! what DID YOU MAKE ME PLAY!!!!!!!!
Overall game looks fun to play ! Sticked to the theme point.
“WAIT… DID THAT GUY JUST WALK OUT WITHOUT PAYING?”
LOL, I hope you were able to demand meny before the customers left the table and onto the HIGHWAY!!
Also, I played your game and it had that eerie atmosphere of despair and gloominess…nice!
It's a very curious take on the genre.
A bit cacophonic for my taste, with all the traffic noises going around.
Ahh… my good sir! How lovely to see you took a gandar at my creation!
This cooking game is based on classic Indian roadside roadside reseraunt known as a Dhaba (and this game is designed using my QWERTY Game Design Framework)
I suppose I should come clean … —that loud highway ambiance was an intentional callback to the authentic Indian dhaba experience!
Wait i have literally never seen a layout like this before. Super impressive idea and execution. Like really good lol
Thank you!! 😂 I’m slowly trying to convince people that the QWERTY keyboard is secretly a game genre.
Glad you got comfortable with it! And btw… hope you caught those customers before they sneaked away without paying.
👀 —> 💸
Such a novel keyboard-and-mouse experience XD
Haha thank you! XD I guess I have a habit of turning things that normally sit outside the game into the game itself. Even though this game has you use Touch Typing hands position for your hands, the real gameplay is keeping one eye on the kitchen and one eye on the cash… TRUST NO ONE! Hope you caught my dhaba customers before they sneaked away without paying! 👀💸
Also, I played yours — the ART IS ADORABLE!! Those cute art style totally got me.
Cool gameplay of keyboard. Nice work
Thank you! 😄
I’m slowly “trying” to convince people that the QWERTY keyboard is actually a game genre. 😂
I made another game on itch:- /jam/game-mechanics-jam-4/rate/4995730
Nice cook from a single dev like me .
😂
thank you!
🙌 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand the kitchen is always open (just don’t ask me to do the dishes)

Interesting concept, and outside of other comments that mentioned the keyboard layout (which I also must admit, did slightly throw me out of the loop, after I got comfortable with it), I do wonder how well does it fit the theme of the "Trust No One". Still it is impressive to have been done as a solo venture!
Thank you! 😄
The keyboard definitely takes a little getting used to!
And for “Trust No One” — the idea is that the customer who walks in may or may not actually pay… you ACTUALLY keep one eye on the kitchen and one eye on the cash💸 (A S D F)

The keys were confusing at first, I did read the instructions but the keyboard layout inside the game made it confusing, as the visuals cued me into using the n/m/,/. keys instead. After I got used to it it was fun to play. I would suggest removing the in game keyboard layout (it also made me wonder if the keys inside were clickable). The game itself was interesting, the controls were good, but I feel like the visuals suffered because of that image of the keyboard ingame. Pretty enjoyable after I got used to it though.
Wow, thanks for trying! Your game had a great complexity psychologically, mine happened to be a visual mess because i was going for a more features but stopped due to lack of time… sigh
I can relate. Scope creep always creeps out on you when you least expect it, you can just add updates later
correct! Scope CREEP CREEPS me out as well!
Short but memorable! The food looks nice too. I can see the potensial of the game. And also the car horn sounds cute. I enjoyed your game.
Thanks! and thanks for experiencing the Chaos all with just a keyboard!!
Nice simple game, and as a vim user i like the keyboard only.
Ah, then the simple keyboard gameplay would have felt right at home to you, NOICE!
YOUR GAME IDEA and the title name is pure Awesomeness!
Good game
Thanks a ton for checking the game out!!
The game has a QWERTY keyboard layout as a world-space gameplay system.
I called this concept “K Board.”
As someone who never learned to properly type this was a lot to throw someone into. Id suggest easing people in one to three keys at a time
What were you typing in the game, dude? select table out of A S D F, then tap one dish J K L ; and then serve with spacebar. 3 keys at a time
Each table at A S D F will have you just 2 items to cook.
You can tap Spacebar to serve what you cooked one by one, no rush
The concept is nice but a bit more clarity would be very welcome here. I was a bit lost at the beginning even with the prompts on screen. Plus the whole layout of the keys on screen was a bit weird and made me think I needed to use a lot more keys than I really did.
Ah, I was supposed to dull the borders of the keyboard buttons but my focus was to create a bug free game out there.
THE HIGHWAY SYSTEM took half of my time. It is a full fledged system will AI look at parking and queue
Fun control scheme!
Getting that micromanagement to feel just right—especially with the customers running away without paying (actively trying to ruin your day) was a fun challenge to build. Thanks for playing AND DROPPING A RATING
