How does your game meet GBJam's theme
In a not-so-remote future, Earth has run completely dry. Only a machine built by a world-renowned scientist can fix it. But it needs gold to function, a resource that was entirely depleted and is now only found on the edge of the known universe. Will you lead your crew to victory and survive the abhorrent creatures lurking in the shadows?

Very awesome! Reminded me a lot of the game barotrauma which I'm guessing was some inspiration. I'm super impressed that ya'll got something this polished done in time for the jam. I was a little confused on the objective, I was just kinda roaming around for a long time and running into monsters. Great job!
Wow, great game! Interesting idea, quite spooky :) Respect
This was a very interesting concept with an eerie vibe. I liked the high contrast of the yellow light, it drew your eye around screen. Sound design was great and pushed the creepiness.
Switching between piloting the ship and running around defending it from aliens made for good immersion.
I liked being able to order the crew around. Glad I found this one, it was cool.
It was weird enough to caught my attention when I was checking for games to play. I liked not knowing what was in each room but it also felt strange since you have your crew there. The ship part was super weird but I liked it, initially I thought I didn't like it but then I was like waiting it to advance and see what happens, like if it was a submarine in the deep. It was an interesting concept, and I liked the lore.
Wow! Cool stuff. Opening the hatches and finding a weird monster lurking around with one of your guys dead is a thrilling experience that i didn't think was possible to make happen in this format. Both navigating and patrolling the ship were fun and immersive experiences. Yeah, that's the word i'd pick for this game-- surprisingly immersive. Great job!
Really cool game! Art is really nicely done, I especially like how the monsters move, and the audio is also great! The gameplay feels nice and smooth, and the game follows a very unique concept! Very much enjoyed playing this one! Keep it up ^^
That was very different from any game I’ve played in this jam, I loved it!
This was really great. It reminded me a bit of FTL but a focus on actually flying the ship and the management of crew being more secondary. The mechanic of turning your sonar on and off was cool and gave it a very "horror" feel which provoked a lot of anxiety in a good way! I think it would have been nice to have some ship alarms/cameras which would give a little more feedback of when you had aliens aboard. Overall really well done, I would play a future more finished version for sure.
This was one of the most unusual and interesting games I played at this game jam. It’s packed with unique mechanics, such as managing the crew, piloting the ship, using sonar, and dealing with monster incursions during encounters...
At first, it was hard to figure out how everything worked, but I got the hang of it after my first defeat.
I found it easier to just run into a monster and defeat it than to try turning off the sonar and navigating around it—though I did manage to pull that off once. That said, I didn't quite understand what I was supposed to do when the timer appeared.
Also, upon losing, I would have liked to see a cutscene or something similar, as it wasn't entirely clear what had happened.
I feel like we should have aimed for a smaller, more polished experience but got carried away (like making the enemy have spider legs) :D
One thing I particularly regret and agree with is that we could have made the objective clearer. I've updated the game page to reflect that, but the idea was that you collected gold by extracting it, and that would take a minute while also attracting all the enemies.
We're planning on polishing a bit when the jam ends, thanks for playing!
Hello sonar-brother! :D I like the atmosphere you create with your amazing SFX and music. Also, the lighting is pretty cool. It has a lot of potential, keep going!
Heyy thanks! We had the pleasure to work with a composer this time and he understood perfectly the vibe we were going for. I'm glad you liked it!
I like that the controllers were explained at the beginning. the art style is very simple and it works well with everything. i got somehow stuck inside the walls :D i think it happened because the ship was still moving and i wasn't looking the the console.
Originally, we planned on having the ship shake and push the players around when it hit, but couldn't find time for it. Maybe for a future version!
Really weird in a good way! I liked having to switch between piloting the ship and defending it, and being able to give orders to the rest of the crew is a really nice touch.
The art style is also very distinctive and has a great old-school feel to it. Really cool idea overall!
Thank you!
Well, would you look at that, Game-Boy Space-Barotrauma.
Very interesting entry, Impressive effort. Love the movement of your aliens, love being able to order crewmates around, love the visuals (especially when firing the gun).
I do think it never quite reach its full potential however. Having only two order and no tasks to do around the ship means that it's useless to not have either 4 defenders or 1 pilots and 3 defenders. The player is given more tool that is actively needed. I'm guessing you had to cut some mechanics due to time constraint ?
Still, the potential is there. I'm always thrilled to play anything ressembling Barotrauma or space station 13. Great job to all three of you.
Ahahah yes! Barotrauma was a big inspiration for the game along with We Need to Go Deeper, and I guess SS13 also unknowingly got in my head when spriting (surprised to hear it being mentioned here, honestly!)
And you're right, we originally wanted crewmembers to be able to aim outside guns or fix the hull and run the reactor in the bottom room, but I got caught up with the pathfinding logic for them, so we never implemented them.
Still, thanks for taking the time for playing and leaving such a detailed review!
Thank you!
Great entry! The navigation console is awesome! The image warping near the edges is very cool.
My crew got absolutely demolished after reaching a gold nugget(?), it was kind of sad :(
I got a bit lost, I went back to the start by mistake (since I left one of the crew piloting). Maybe some general indication of where the gold could be would be great.
Overall, this game is solid, great gameplay loop.
I'm glad you liked the navigation screen! I really wanted to mess around with shaders this time around. Also, the idea was that when you reached the gold at the end, a sort of "extraction" phase would begin. But I agree, we should have definitely put a message or something else to make that clearer.
Great atmosphere especially impressed with your lighting effect. Cool cutscene/intro and realy nice sfx and music.
Thanks! The lighting effect on the objects was actually a bug at the beginning (it was only supposed to make everything yellow) but we liked how it looked so we kept it!
I like the intro cutscene a lot! Quirky and fun. Nice character art style, I adore the little crew guys. I thought it was cool that I could command my crew too. It would have been nice if there was a third useful option for them though. I don't think much was gained by obscuring the rooms in the ship when not in them, losing that overview turned patrolling the ship into a bit of a chore. I thought the sonar risk was a good idea for the piloting minigame but if the movement was smoother instead of jumping forward every few frames, it would have been easier for my mind's eye to "track" where the ship was going in the sonic dark. Interesting game, I enjoyed playing it!
Thank you very much for your comment, I'm glad you liked it. Thanks also for the advice, maybe we'll make some changes to make it even better.
Thank you for the kind words! We actually planned on having the crew do other tasks (such as repairing the hull or operating the reactor) but had to cut short. And I do agree that the sonar could have been more accessible, especially given the need to rely on the visual indicators too. Still, I'm glad you enjoyed playing it!
I'm sorry it's not clear what to do, whether or not to drive the ship is your choice but obviously you drive it better than the bot and you get there first, you have to get to the end of each cave and collect the precious gold you need to save the Earth, but you have to be careful of the aliens who can attack you, don't desert if a character dies you can continue with another member of the crew
Liked the game but I felt a bit lost on what to do with the ship, I controlled my crew but I was sure where I was driving or if I should drive and maybe just wait and defend the ship a timer appeared the ship stopped moving and I got killed.
