At first i was like, hmm another Paper Please game. Maybe the 9th or the 10th i played in this jam. But after playing a bit, i feel this has a charm.
First, the world building. It kinda want to establish a lore about this world, politics, society and things. But of course the short jam time prevent that. I think world building the most important thing of the this kind of game. I mean, very few players can do in the game and most of the time is reading stuff. If the game does not provide a good material to read, then the game is not good.
Second, the paper checking mechanism is the second most important of the game. maybe you can make an high fantasy paper ID, instead of modern ID card.
Third, game economy and progression. Add upgrade stuff like spell or guards to give a feel of progression.
This is a good submission in this jam. People maybe skip this because of the error in the browser version. But if you can, download it.
Really cool papers please genre game, I liked it
really nice art and music, the gameplay is innovative in your papers please type game! I liked it a lot :)
I Really liked the visuals great game !
The game looks really lovely, very good art work and the premise seems nice. The game just seems to really struggle to run properly for me. The texts disappears in chromium and using firefox I get this error message:
I did get to start interacting with one person but the game stuttered and then the game lost its text again. I’m actually not sure which browser it was I ran it in the end.
Play-through with more feedback:
I appreciate you playing! Real weird for the errors apologies! It seems the browser version doesn't like all types of browsers. If you ever feel like it, the exe version shouldn't have any of those problems as it was mainly made around it! I am glad you tried it all the same!
Im really interested in the spellcaster checking supplies for dangerous spells idea! I actually had a blast playing this!
Really fun game!! It reminded me a lot of Papers, Please, but instead of the tense and oppressive atmosphere, it has this really cute fantasy kingdom setting!
I really loved the art style and all the different locations and settings! I'd love to see more levels, more information to cross-check, and even more types of documents to inspect!
The pixel art is absolutely adorable too!!
It’s like Papers, Please in a fantasy setting, which is really cool, especially with all the detail in the era designations used for the dates. The art is great too. Nice job!
Super awesome, loved the aesthetic and I'm always a sucker for fantasy themes and settings. Really looking forward to seeing more after the jam if you continue to expand upon on it!
Fun little job sim a la papers please! I am a sucker for the fantasy aesthetic, so I really enjoyed the art! I really liked how much personality each character has and will say gramps is lowk my fav I didn't realize he was gonna be chill like that. I do wish there was a little bit more interactivity but it's the nature of these types of games and jams but hope you can find something that really makes it unique! Overall, I really liked it and would love to see more!
Fantasy papers please! Quite cool and very nice art style!
Awesome artwork!!
Super nice artwork and cute characters
I suppose bolder fonts would do better with this desk zoom and pan mechanic
Also would like having more things to check, like guild issued papers or weapons/items licenses
Unfortunately for me browser build didn't work (Chrome) and I downloaded the windows version
Nice. the only criticism I have is that everything on the desk felt a bit small. I think maybe improving visibility would be a good idea. other than that I enjoyed it, the art style was nice, I liked the focus on the individual characters. I think the them fit perfectly and totally I'm not biased at all.
also there must have been some mistake, I'm pretty sure everything on the kids ID checked out. all the information was arcuate and the expiry date hadn’t passed and it certainly looked official. I just have to assume the Uncivilised person that got in that day was the hoity-toity rich lady.
also felt like the spider man pointing meme seeing the premise of the game.
Well done. Nice artwork in there
Nice papers, please like game, I really enjoyed the character designs.
This is really cool. I think a web build would really help it in this jam, though.
Thank you for playin it! I originally thought the browser version was broken cause wouldn't work right in HTML. But found out can use GX.Games and it works! And saw first 48 hours can add more platform support, so added browser! Thanks for the suggestion!
