I liked exploring the different potions you can make, and I liked the concept of farming to stuff henry with a bunch of potions so he can survive. Quite creative and very fun !!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Happy you had fun exploring.

well done

Developer

Could be a burger order but I’ll choose to believe it’s about our game haha. Thanks!

Submitted(+1)

i wouldn’t say no to a good burger but i did meant your game, was very creative

Submitted(+3)

I liked the back and forth between gathering and combat. It was also a nice touch adding 'incorrect' recipes to the  book. It added a since of discovery to the game. Great execution!

Developer

Thank you! Glad you had fun discovering new potions.

I like the mash up between the cozy, farming game and the more hectic RPG battler. Trying to frantically fight, but then switching over to the more calm ingredient gathering portion - the juxtaposition of the two games just managed to work out.. very creative!

Developer(+1)

A big hope of ours was to get the juxtaposition between the two sections just right so I'm happy you enjoyed it so much. Thanks for playing.

I loved this game. I really like the MS-paint-style art. It made me laugh out loud whenever I came back from petting a goat to find out that Henry was nearly dead, or when I came back to brew him up some berries and herbs and he was actually dead. 😂 Nice change of music between the dungeon and the other stuff. I liked the different minigames you had to do, and how there were lots of combinations of items to discover. But most of all, I loved that I'm basically off having a relaxing spa day in the countryside while Henry is getting poisoned and eaten by a slime guy.

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear that people connected with the vibe we were going for, especially the game's contrast and sense of humor.

Submitted(+3)

It's so funny how while you are just out picking berries and feeding goats, Henry is fighting for his life, so the next time you visit him, he's on the verge of dying. What a creative game!

Developer

Thank you so much! Henry tries his best lol.

Submitted(+3)

It's a nice idea, I wish If i could put something into my inventory by just clicking it. And also to know how much hp of Henry is left, while not in the fighting area. I was still gathering resources and then came back to him just to find out that he was dead lol

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! We actually made a conscious decision to hide Henry's health while you are away so you have to decide how long you want to risk being away. But we realize how that might not appeal to everyone.

Submitted(+1)

Yeah, then maybe just an indicator that he has low hp if you don't want to tell the exact number. Bc I kindof have no way to know how much damage is being dealt to him at once (for all i know it could be different each time)

Developer(+1)

True, we considered having the map icon for combat being Henry's face with different levels of injured (maybe high, medium and low) but didn't have enough time.

Submitted

I think tthat would be a good idea!

Submitted(+3)

Very cool!

Developer

Thanks!

Submitted(+3)

I always thought you had to follow the recipes from the book, I didn’t realize there are so many combinations. This is an amazing game, though it feels a bit challenging for me...

Developer

Thank you! I'm quite proud of the crafting system, each ingredient basically has hidden stats that get added towards brewing a potion. This way I was able to support many more combinations than if I hard coded them.

I like the concept! really nice game! altho i  did play it like a happy farm game at first and let henry down xD

Developer

Haha poor Henry. Thanks for playing!

I really enjoyed playing this game. The art style immediately caught my attention, and the gameplay was a wonderful surprise. Everything comes together in a way that feels fun, polished, and engaging.

The idea is very creative and feels genuinely original. I also think it fits the game jam theme really well, which makes the whole experience even more impressive.

I can honestly see this becoming a commercial game with further development. It has a lot of potential. Congratulations on your creativity and on making such an original and enjoyable game. Great work!

Developer

Thank you so much! Super happy you had such a wonderful experience playing our game.

Submitted(+1)

Hope you get a chance to play my game too!

Developer(+1)

Already did. It was fun!

Submitted(+3)

Cool game, creative concept

it was interesting how you could find stronger potions by combining the ingredients. And how there were multiple potions with different uses.

Developer

Thanks! Glad you had a good time exploring different potion recipes.

Submitted(+3)

Good game. It could use a tutorial. I hope you had a great jam!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah we wish we had more time for a tutorial. Hope you had a great jam too.

Submitted(+3)

I think in creativity that was up a notch on many other games that I've played! It had layers in the mechanics and I think it was very fun trying to figure out the ingredients that I needed. Music was banging as well! The contrast between the scenes created good tension. Very well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Happy you had a fun time playing our game.

Hi. Your game looks really interesting and I'd love to play it  but I press everywhere with my mouse but nothing happens. How do I play the game?

Developer

You have to go to the locations on the map and click and drag ingredients into your inventory. They can then be dragged into the cauldron to make a potion for Henry. Hope you enjoy it!

Submitted(+3)

Now I could play it. I could kill the first 2 monsters. I liked the game. It's really interesting combining potions and having to hurry up to fight. Congratulations on a great game.

Submitted(+3)

Honestly , great fucking game , it integrates with the theme really well , better then most games i dare to say , the strategy aspect is really fun , and it kept me playing the game for multiple runs , not just 1 or 2 , my only critique is that it took me 5 runs of losing to the slime to figure out BY ACCIDENT you can discover new potions , my initial instict was that new recipes will just show up in the book by progressing trough the game

Developer

That's completely understandable, we only realized after the jam ended that we don't explicitly say anywhere in the game that you can mix any ingredients to discover new recipes. It seems so obvious to say it in hindsight but at the time we didn't think of it! So glad you enjoyed it anyway.

Submitted(+3)

LOL. I absolutely love the extreme intensity of Henry's section contrasted by the serene calmness of the other ones. Made me laugh every time. I do think that this would've been a little better if it were easier, actually. I think dragging the items into the pot in Henry's part is one step too many, and the brewing could have taken place in the inventory itself, possibly by dragging an item onto another item. That's just my little nitpick though. Overall, good art, good sounds, good design, good idea.

Developer

Thank you! That contrast is exactly what we were going for. The balance was really hard to get right, and there were originally a lot more things that would use up actions: going to and from combat took 2 turns, brewing took a turn, giving Henry a potion took a turn. We were adjusting things until the last minute.

Submitted(+3)

Very cool concept. Love how the game gives you way more ingredient options then you need and its up to you to decide what's important enough. Although A tutorial would have been nice. I didnt really grasp the point until henry was nearly dead the first time lol. Very fun.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah we didn't have time to make a guided tutorial, only the how to play section in the rules and page description. Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+3)

Very cool idea, I love it! Also I quite enjoyed the artstyle and the music. If you ever plan on expanding the game, please add quicker adding to inventory and to the brewing cauldron  (like the shift-click in minecraft)

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the suggestion. If we decide to make a post-jam version of the game we'll keep that in mind.

Submitted(+3)

I had fun with this one, and the concept is very unique!

Developer

Happy you had fun. Thanks for playing!
