How does the game fit the theme?
You are locked in an office solving a murder entirely through a telephone, and every person on the other end of the line has a reason to lie to you.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All code, 3D art, portraits and UI were made during the jam.

Sound effects are a mix of free sounds sourced online and recordings I made myself. The in-game documents were provided by EdduDesign (Arquivos Confidenciais). The rug texture is from Sketchup Texture Club. Music is "Night on the Docks" and "Bass Walker" by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com), both copyright free.

This is very well done. The design language is deliberate, the story is thought-through and the use of colors (red for the phone, monochromatic grey for the environment) make the game visually appealing and unique. In addition the light shining onto the desk emphasizing where you’ll be spending your time is good.

The unique art and font used for the documents is also well done and blends together nicely. No-one document reads the same.

The game feels simple in nature, yet deliberate in execution. I am in awe, there’s a lot I can learn from this.

You really nailed the 1920s film Noir visual Style

The visuals, the art style, the audio, the story, are incredddiiible!

There were a lot of content and clues that added depth to the game. The contrast in color between the phone and the room was a smart choice too! Great game!

This was a great game. I watched it a bit at work while it was being streamed and tuned out when i saw the answer was gonna be put in chat. I think i spent a solid hour on this one alone. Combing files. Connecting the dots. I'm so impressed how you were able to tie everything together in such a detailed way.

Like, legit i wanted to go throw on a trench coat and stand outside of a diner around 11PM, smoke a cigarette and monologue about the darkness of the world.

Like, this being 2 people over the course of the week having this much polish is just impeccable.

I don't really have much notes other than i got spam calls a few too many times.

Really really excellent work here!

Hands down, Really Impressive

I loved this! So far up my alley it's approaching harassment.

The investigation board is so well implemented, I adored that mechanic, I've always wanted to make one of those!

Overall art style captured the noir aesthetic well, but the photograph illustrations stood out as especially gorgeous. Lovely work by the artist on those!

There was so much content for a jam game, mountains of documents, all the phone calls, really impressive how much you managed to fit in in a week.

The mystery itself was fun to piece together and sort through all the evidence and witness dialogue on calls, it was satisfying when certain things clicked (like figuring out the police source and the links back to the recorded call etc.).

Greatly enjoyed this game, thank you so much to the team!

(one thing that could have been clearer was if I got the answers correct or not? based on the call I think I did but there was a certain ambiguity and I expected some sort of ending, but I think it just stopped on the "Thank you for playing!" screen? not a big deal because I enjoyed the process but some extra confirmation would be nice!)

No! Thank you for making!

Also, what is this? A crossover episode??? My game is based on green banker's lamps showing up in games/tv/movies etc. all the time haha

Developer

You got it right! Thought the call was confirmation enough, but for sure in a future version I will spice up the ending, and thanks a lot for playing!

I don't recall the exact wording, but I think the client mentioned something about verifying it tonight or tomorrow that made me think there would be some confirmation/rejection.

The investigator theme and the atmosphere come together to make an awesome game. Without a doubt, you guys did great job!

Loved the atmosphere, and I really enjoyed the grey-scale and red phone concept. Big congratulations on the team for getting this together!

I absolutely loved the game atmosphere. Nice one !

what a wonderful entry!
had to raise the screen's brightens for this one haha, but it's so worth it ! really immersive!

sadly i didn't manage to get the right successor and killer
but it is actually really fun to play and to try to solve the Mistry
art style is AMAZING loved that old red telephone
overall really fun , definatly will try to play it again in my free time
hopefully I'll get that killer and successor right next time

Developer

This is so good! I realy love mistery and this one does not disappoint!
I played so many great games over here in this jam, this one is up there with the best I played!
No joke, congrats to all of the people involved on this project!

Thanks! Means a lot to us, also loved your game

really like the artstyle, the red phone to show its importance in a black and white room.

my only feedback is a lot of texture ghosting and maybe leave a hologram in the space when you are suppose to put stuff back to make it a little more intuitive, overall great game though, well done.

Developer

Thanks so much! Roz and I spent a long time working on the concepts to make the environment really immersive, and we're happy it turned out well!

Very atmospheric and cool.  The gameplay is really enjoyable. The art is very fitting!

This feels so good to play! and a fantastic spin on the theme, well done!

The mystery I feel requires at least an hour to try and solve. My brain was honestly over-stressed xD This would be PERFECT to sit down with a group (like my husband his parents) to try and brainstorm this and figure it out though! Fantastic work! I love these types of games (when I have help lol)

I failed to name the successor, though, I really enjoyed it! I think I finished it? I don't know, the art style reminded me of another game in the jam and the gameplay, I felt like Ben Raily, my game is not winning with THAT as a competitor, good job!

Thanks a lot for playing!! Glad you had fun :)

I don't know which one you played but I did find remind me quite similar, they even used red as an accent color! Though their game has more realistic assets.

Love the menu, love the noir aesthetic. I'm not smart enough to solve the mystery but I did try a couple of runs!  My main suggestion is to anchor your text to one side, it's quite difficult to read when it keeps moving after every new character appears. Great job!

the mistery is indeed too big for a jam, we kind of screwed up in that sense haha
thanks for playing it, and good sugestion, we'll look into it! I did feel like the text was a bit awkward to read but didn't know what to do about it.

Extremely polished, love the board mechanic. The SFX are very nice, especially when adding/removing things from the pin board. I think more SFX for the people on the phone and maybe some background music could be a neat touch. It can be a bit confusing, but it's a mystery game so it fits. Overall this game is amazing and fits the jam theme perfectly.

Thank you! We'll find the perfect bg music! And also work on a way to help with organizing the info to make it a little less daunting.

Enojyed the noir vibe of this game, hopefully an objective checklist would be implemented for future updates. Got lost just opening boxes and reading papers. Congrats on the jam!

Yeah it's kind of a lot of documents, it can be daunting! We'll figure out a way to mark your progress better and not get lost in the info. Thanks for playing!
