Anyone could be the villain--and you can never take what they say at face value.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Nice artwork and game loop! I liked interrogating each prospect, figuring out whodunnit (I never was able to ha!) and the overall lore you created. Very nice entry!!

Liked: The art is amazing! How you managed to make all the characters and backgrounds WITH ANIMATIONS is baffling to me. The enjoyed the mechanics as well. Figuring out how to catch the villain without maxing out hysteria is super fun.

Could Improve: The base is really solid. Right now the only real way for me to figure out the villain was to let everyone in one by one and removing them from them until I found the murderer. A few more things we could investigate could be awesome Also right now there is no real choice in dialogue selection just you select the topic that is presented, having some choice in what you want to ask would be cool as well.

Additional Comments: This game reminds me a bit of Gnosia. It is similar in the sense that you don't have a direct way of knowing who the killer is but need to figure it out via a process of elimination. I think this game has great potential and would like to try it out if you expend on it in the future. Amazing work!

Love the artstyle and theming of this game! One minor thing I found was that in the intro, the character sprite blocks the progression of dialogue (if you click the character instead of the textbox or background). Regardless, the gameplay was engaging and I really hope to see this expanded on after the jam!

This is such a wonderful spin on the "no I'm not a human"/"papers please" style of game! The art style is VERY good. I love all the character designs, and the story and concept were compelling. I just wish there was MORE story. If you expand this into a full game I'd want each character to have a multi-day story they tell you the longer they're in town. Plus more investigation metrics would be nice.

Good concept and the art style is neat, it deserve to be expended with improved investigating features.

Great idea, and wonderful art and music! Although I can hardly understand how to find out the culprit here, lol. Also it would be nice to be able to visit all places at the end of the day and interrogate all inhabitants of the city

Wow incredible character design. Really clean and full of detail.

Gorgeous sprite work, it really elevates the entire experience.

I've discovered a bit late  that possessed and charlatans were two different problem. Turns out the witch coming every day to con the townsfolk wasn't also a demon. Oh well.

The fact that visitors come one by one and immediatly impact the wealth and hysteria score makes it a bit too easy to figure out who's who. It's a shame, as it makes the dialogue and downtime system seem rather pointless. I've also had playthrough where the same character would come back every day to try and get in, rising the hysteria level without allowing me to meet any other visitors.

Very nice entry despite my issues with the balancing, the quantity of assets you produced in such a short timeframe is really impressive.

I love the pixel art and the character design! The audio (music and SFX) fits really well. I had a great time playing the game!

Character sprites are absolutely magnificent! I played two games, and poor Edwarf got murdered immediately in both of the runs :'D

The game is overall very polished, and I had a lot of fun playing it! Really great job :D

I find the whole package particularly refined, with beautiful pixel art, music that suits the setting, and an atmosphere that is captured exceptionally well. To further refine the overall experience, dramatic music playing when our choices lead to defeat would be a nice addition. Good work, team !

I really enjoyed this! Relatively small, of course, but still impressive for a jam. The character art is great.  I found it reasonable to figure out who was and wasn't trustworthy, which I've had issues with in other similar games.

Really in love with the character art for this! Super impressive for a 1 week game. If you decide to do more with it after the jam, I think as a player I would just want a little more guidance on how to figure out who the culprit is.

Major kudos to your team!

I really enjoyed this game and I played through it a couple of times. I won't lie, I did spend a lot of time getting myself executed because I wanted to see all the characters unique dialogue. The visuals and characters personalities were great! Over all fun little short game to play.
