Very chill & cool entry. Perfectly polished. I had a lot of fun while playing it. I would like to see further updates & customers feedbacks after we cut their hair. :P
I gave everyone a cool haircut. :)

Developer

The right one is very devious looking! Thanks for paying!!

A really funny and excellent concept, I loved the gameplay and honestly one of the best entries I could've play so far !!! Great job to both of you c: ! I'd like to have an extended version and more crazy customers hahaha

Damn I really liked this game! Very impressed with the extra lil features you got in there like saving customer portraits. Og gameboy colour palette rocks too. Also loved the dev portaits included on your page. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Means a lot! Thank you :D

Fun concept! I was missing some sort of reaction to the hair-cut made, but I'm also sure that wasn't easy to put into the game in time! Very polished though and great visuals and art!

Developer

Thank you God sir/maam. We barely submitted on time hihi

That doesn't even look like a mustache anymore, I think my job here is done.

Anyway, this had easily the best atmosphere of anything I've played in this jam so far, the vibes are immaculate. Some form of rating from the customers would be nice, although it is also very fun to mess them up as much as possible. At that point, one idea could be making the rating a scale from like -5 to +5, so that you can sorta decide what kind of barber you want to be (a chaotic one or one that really tries to listen to the customers). What I'm saying is that I think it should be fun to also have a negative rating, not only a positive one.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! perhaps they lead to different endings of some sort.  We have a lot planned.  Check out some of the upcoming guests ;)

Perfect game. I wouldn't change a thing about it, except for more customers.

I read the comments you wrote about your plans in the future, and I have to say that I don't quite agree.

Potions against drunkenness is a logical continuation, but most players don't play this game to be a good barber. I personally really enjoyed seeing someone and their wishes as a canvas, and deciding what to do with it. So instead I'd make the player besides the drunk barber also the drunk pedicurist, make up artist, fashion designer, plastic surgeon, tattooist, body painter, and potentially more. You can turn a human into a completely new being. With the quality of this game I think you guys might be able to pull it off.

Secondly a lot of people seem to think honest customer feedback would be fun. I think instead it would be way funnier if they were happy with whatever they got. Thinking about seeing someone looking completely rediculous but extremely happy lifts my spirit. Besides, it's really hard making an algorithm that accurately messures how good you did.

Your game your decision. I'm not saying what you say is bad, I'm saying I'd do it differently. Congrats on an amazing entry.

Developer

We discussed your comment for a while but forgot to reply! I think we could have portions and stuff that aren't overpowered, something for when you really want that cut to be great. But mixed in could be random occasional side effects and what not.

anyway, I'm really happy you enjoyed the experience. Thank you thank you

Top Skillz

Something different; really enjoyed playing

Great idea to include controls in the banner art; I am going to take that!

Developer

Oh this guy is definitely hiding something.

Got the banner idea after a steamer in the comments below pointed it out in his game jam test video! Highly recommend :D

This game is vile, i was gonna make them look so good why you made me so drunk 😭😭
Absolutely in love with this game, super cool aesthetic, super cool mechanics (although i wish you could turn down the drunkenness....), just wonderful!

Developer

if you were to be a trustworthy barber we would lose the theme connection :D Ruin their hair to your heart's content. In the future we want to add shops and potions, some of which will help with drunkness etc. :D can't wait!

Really funny and simple idea! I wish there was some form of rating or reaction from the guests. Well done!

Developer(+1)

it's in the works for the future! Thanks for the feedback <3 :D

I am a on trick barber. Same cut every time. Fun game I liked the pictures it saved afterwards!

Developer

I have a signature angled bang and short back hair that I give to whoever is unfortunate enough to enter my shop.

Thank you! Don't hesitate to share those polaroid.

Cutting and seeing the customers was funny good job.

Developer

Thank you thank you, I appreciate it!

It was so much fun to completely ignore the clients' requests and just shave everyone bald. By the way, the visual style is really nice!

Developer

Bald is the look this season! Thanks for the positive reception :3

What a great looking game, and very fun too. The idea of playing a drunk barber and just cutting willy nilly into peopls hair is amazing. Unfortunately the game crashes for me on the second customer! Would've loved to see more of it.

Developer

Thank you! Glad your enjoyed the experience. We received that a few times, but we can't seem to diagnose the issue because the game isn't crashing for us.  Do you press multiple quick clicks when cutting or are you pressing and holding before every cut? The first method crashed once for me. I'm trying to figure out the problem.

Submitted

Gave it another try, and it was definitely from fast clicking with the scissors. Hopefully you can find the cause!
