I really liked the visuals in this game, and I think you nailed the atmosphere. I think there's a lot of directions you could take this that would be interesting. Cool stuff!

How does the game fit the theme?
DeepRot fits the theme “Trust No One” by putting the player under the control of an unknown organization whose intentions and instructions may not be trustworthy.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All code was made by me. Most 3D models were created by me, with a few downloaded from Sketchfab. Sounds were sourced online and edited by me.

I really really like how the game looks, feels and sounds. This is very similar to the aesthetic I was going for in my game and I really love how it feels to play. There isn't a lot of gameplay but I really like the possibilities. I would love to see this added on to. I love the monochrome visuals and icons on the screen. Its very similar to iron lung atm.
The idea is very simple and minimal atm so it doesn't actually offer me much to pick apart. The only thing I could say is that it would have been nice if you could throw rocks automatically by holding F (it doesn't have to be all rocks at once just have an automation speed) instead of throwing one at a time. But I could see how throwing one at a time makes sense if later there will be upgrades that automate the process for you.
In terms of presentation I actually really like how the game looks and i think the black and white is an interesting choice, it adds to the mysterious mood. I like that there is a small mystery set up of a company with secret motives.
the atmosphere was pretty nice, i like the incremental side of it but i do wish the theme shined slightly more, other than that great game!!!
Loved the atmosphere and the details, I love looking around and seeing if there are details that only somee people will notice.
loved the dystopian atmosphere, you really out done yourself. Love the attention to detail, Great work!
Loved the atmosphere here. I think the theme for the jam doesn't really shine through, but otherwise I enjoyed what was briefly there. I did find the pickaxe a little hard to spot on the wall at first. I also wish that for both mining and depositing rocks you could hold the key to do so. There should probably also be some way to deposit more than one rock at a time.
Thank you!! I will make the pickaxe more visible for the next update and mining easier by allowing to hold the key. Am not sure i want to allow the player to deposit many rocks at the same time, because i want to keep it realistic and maybe add a craftable machine that does it for you in the future.
Very beautiful game. Really liked the visuals. I am wondering about what the character is and what is that they eat of the wall. I am very interested what ideas you have for the next stage of development. One thing that caught my eye is that I can use F to mine the rock when I am holding the pickaxe without the pickaxe animation triggering. Is this intentional?
Wow, the atmosphere is absolutely amazing! The game is really well-made, a great incremental game!
We like the visuals and atmosphere, would have liked to see more with the theme. Interested to see the ideas you mentioned at the end.
Love the whole vibe of this game. So moody. Incremental game always fun as well. Great entry!
I love the atmosphere of this game! I noticed that the broadcast sound at the very beginning actually has directional differentiation — that's a really nice detail!
The concept and presentation look really interesting! I especially like the atmosphere and the dystopian style. The idea feels like it has a lot of potential, especially if the narrative gets expanded around the theme. Great work!
Alright, a simple protype for an incremental game I guess? It had a great atmosphere and concept which is different from most "grinding" games, actually enjoyed it! Only thing missing is the incorporation of theme "Trust no One", I know it must be something related to "why are we doing this/the cause of us being stuck in a room" but still, needed more incorporation of the theme in the implementation. Nonetheless, great job in this one, simple yet effective!!
Game itself is like sisyphus, which might be better if it had incremental elements. Visual elements and cam shake are too much. 5 mins was enough to make me dizzy. Maybe an option to lower them could really help. I like the theme and art style, gives a very dystopic vibe. I don't think it fits the theme but thats okay. Cool game, lot of room to improve.
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll definitely look into lowering the camera shake and adjusting the particles to make the experience more comfortable. I tried to approach the theme in a more abstract way, since I prioritized the art style and the overall concept of the game. Thanks again for playing! I will check your game too!
