How does the game fit the theme?
You can’t trust your own past. Each round, your previous actions return as shadows that can turn against you.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I made the main arena, gameplay code, and core systems myself during the jam. I used third-party water shaders and a few VFX assets.

How many people worked on the game?

Okay I actually couldn't trust myself on this one
I didn't know that I need to bounce the bullet once to be able to kill an enemy so I spammed the bullet then imagine my second round becoming bullet hell XD

Very fun to play tho I wish there are multiple enemies or walls to make it more interesting
Nice concept overall!

Developer(+1)

Haha, you really learned the hard way that you can’t trust yourself XD! Thanks so much for playing! I’m glad you had fun, and I really appreciate the suggestion about adding more enemies and walls. Thanks again for the feedback!

Very fun take on the theme!
I like that it is only the bounce that actually kits the target, makes you be a little bit more careful/deliberate with your shots. I also like how this actually adds an interesting layer of difficulty when the clones stack up.
I think this is a good base for an arcade type game, I think it would have be fun if the rounds ramped up a bit, maybe having to hit the target a few more times.
Another idea maybe, the time in which you finished the last round somehow acts as an added timer for the next one to expand even more on that your choices affect the next run gimmick

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed comment! It genuinely means a lot to me that you enjoyed the ricochet mechanic and noticed how the clones make things more challenging. I really love your ideas about making the rounds ramp up and carrying the previous round’s time into the next one — I think that could make the whole “your choices affect the next run” idea even stronger. I’ll definitely keep these ideas in mind if I continue working on the game. Really appreciate you playing and sharing your thoughts!

I really loved the visuals of the game, the genre and the mission, I really think that i you add audio/music it would give that final perfect touch to the game and enhace it a lot. Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you loved the visuals, genre and mission. I completely agree about the audio — I had music and SFX planned, but unfortunately ran out of time during the jam. It would definitely add a lot to the atmosphere. Thanks for playing and for the kind words!

I LOVE BULLETHELL, (BULLET)HELL YEAH!! Overall, I love the idea of 3D assets but played like a 2D game! I was curious on how I cant trust myself but i realize i can shoot myself. I finished it in my 2nd Run. Very nice game

Developer

Haha, Really glad you enjoyed it! I’m happy the 3D assets with the 2D-style gameplay worked for you, and great job finishing it on your second run! Thanks so much for playing and for the kind words! :)))

Was there sound ? For me I didn’t have any sound? Neat concept and game over all.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Glad you liked the concept. And nope, there’s actually no sound yet — I had planned to add music and SFX, but ran out of time during the jam. Thanks for playing and for letting me know!

You are welcome. Also, could you play and rate my game? Greatly appreciated!

It's charming and endearing, but definitely would need more polish and love, such as addition of audio and such. It's a bit interesting to have your previous runs influence next rounds, but there definitely could be done a little bit more with a theme to actually people think in more strategic ways of beating game, over the regular monkey brain one. Overall, still a good effort from a solo dev and it is impressive to see a single person do all of it themselves, including the graphics!

Developer

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! I really appreciate it. I agree that the game could use more polish, especially audio, and I’d love to make the mechanics more strategic if I continue working on it. Since I worked on everything myself and had limited time for the jam, I’m really happy you enjoyed it. Thanks for playing and for the kind words!

Really nice concept!

Audio would greatly improve the game feel. Some shoot sounds and music.

Very short game sadly, i would like to see more tbh, very good!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you liked the concept! I actually had more levels, music and SFX planned, but the limited time during the jam got me. I’d definitely love to expand it further in the future. Thanks for playing and for the kind feedback!

Great game please rate my game

Developer

Thank you so much! Really glad you liked the game. I’d be happy to check out your game too and give it a fair rating. Thanks for playing!

That was a quick one and I missed some audio. But the graphics were good and the gameplay ok.
The idea that your previous actions are your own enemies is great, but does that really fit the "Trust No One" theme? Wouldn't be a time theme more fitting for that?

Nevertheless, good job for one week of work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you liked the idea and visuals. For the theme, I was going for the idea that you literally can’t trust your own previous actions, since they come back as enemies. I can see why “Time” might fit too though. And yeah, I really wanted to add audio, but ran out of time during the jam. Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

The visuals of this game are SO GOOD. The moving trees, the shots being fired....Nicely made!

Developer

Thank you so much! I’m really happy you noticed the little details like the trees and shooting effects. I put a lot of effort into the visuals, so this really means a lot. Thanks for playing!

I really like the design of art and UI. Of course, it would be even better if there were more sound effects. I have already given you a rating.

Really fun idea ! It's kind of challenging once you go up to 3 shadows or more !

Developer(+1)

thank you soo much for the feedback bud :))

The game idea is good, but I think it would be better with music. Also, I couldn't defeat the enemy in round 1; I shot at him several times, but nothing happened. But I do like the game concept.

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! The mechanic is actually a little different — as mentioned in the instructions, shooting the enemy directly won’t defeat it; you have to use the ricochet mechanic. Once you figure that out, the game becomes much easier. I also had music planned but ran out of time during the jam.

If you get a chance, I’d genuinely love for you to try it again with the mechanic in mind and rate it. It would mean a lot!

Submitted

I tried it again. This time it was much better and fun.

Lol we went for similar game/theme ideas with different implementations. Nice visuals and effects!

Developer

Haha, that’s pretty cool! Glad to see we had a similar idea but took it in different directions. Thank you so much for the kind words about the visuals and effects, and thanks for playing!

Overall Game Looks nice.

The game is pretty fun to play! Visuals are great. And, I really love the 3D style UI you did for the menu and game over! Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed the visuals, especially the 3D-style UI. I put quite a bit of effort into that part, so it means a lot that you noticed. Thanks for playing and for the kind words!

A really creative little game! I think the rule about hitting targets with ricochet shots could be explained more clearly. Also, adding an aiming guide line would make the direction of your shots much clearer and easier to read.

Developer

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the feedback. I agree the ricochet mechanic could be explained more clearly, and an aiming guide would definitely make the shots easier to understand. I’ll keep these in mind if I continue developing the game. Thanks for playing!

It was a bit hard to percieve where the walls start. So even though I kinda knew where I had to aim and shoot to get a good bounce, I constantly misjudged when the projectile was going to hit the wall.
The visuals are great though

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the feedback! I can see how the wall boundaries could be hard to judge, especially when trying to line up the bounce. I’ll definitely keep that in mind and improve the clarity if I continue the game. Really glad you liked the visuals too! Thanks for playing!

Interesting mechanic! At first, I didn't realize the shadows were previous versions of ourselves. Since I was shooting all over the place, I thought, "Wow, the game gets tough right from the second level." Once I figured that out, the game got much easier—a single well-placed bullet kills the target, so it's easier to dodge. Maybe adding more enemies or moving ones would add a bit more challenge.

Also, on my end, I'm not sure if it's a bug, but there's no sound at all.

Good job !

Submitted

I did not know that and that leaves me to change my rating

Developer

Oh, thank you! I’m really glad you figured out the mechanic. I’d really appreciate it if you changed your rating based on that, but no pressure at all. Thanks for giving the game another chance!
