How does the game fit the theme?
I’d say it’s a bit of a poetic look at the topic, but the theme of (not) trusting is in the story itself and in the gameplay, which resembles how our memories work and whether we can trust them, and to what extent.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Some of the sounds are from freesound.org, photos are from Unsplash and fonts are from Google Fonts. For more details see game description

The most original entry I've seen so far, I really don't have much to say except that I think this game is fantastic. I was completely entranced by the narrative, the exploring of words starts a bit confusing but you eventually get the hang of it, and the decision to forgive or not forgive the different characters the protagonist life gives it a very personal touch

Congratulations, you made something really special

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah, I also like the forgiving part, even though I feel that maybe there's not enough space/time in the game to build enough sympathy and connection to characters so it really feels deep

Such a unique and cool concept! I really like how well it depicts a messy mind remembering and coming to terms with things. The atmosphere is perfect too.

The saved term feature is great but it would also be nice to have a regular notepad or a family tree to play around with :o

Developer

Family tree is a great idea! As for the notepad, I was thinking about that but didn't have enough time to implement it :) I'm glad you enjoyed!

Great game if I understood my mother tongue (English). Alas, I cannot.

Great Concept!

Thanks for playing :)

Amazing mechanics crafted specifically for this experience; hands down one of the most innovative things I’ve seen this jam. I can see this expand way beyond the scope of this jam. Good job!

Developer

Thanks, nice to hear from you! What happened to your game? I enjoyed it a lot

Oh my god that's such an interesting mechanic for a game! To have made this completely solo too, it's really impressive! Loved what you did with the story and how it presented itself. GREAT GAME!!

Developer

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you had fun :)

Soundtrack is very fitting, the controls were a bit weird on the words, feels like repetitive right click etc doesnt seem to work correctly? Story unfolded greatly nice take on the theme, special.

Developer

Thanks! Not sure what you mean by repetitive right click: by clicking one time you "save" the word and it's meaning so no use of clicking repeatedly :D

Such a deeply atmospheric and creative experience! The way the narrative unfolds feels so poetic and mirrors grief and memory in a surprisingly raw way. The UI design is gorgeous, and paired with the cozy soundtrack, it really pulls you into the story, fantastic entry!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you had a good time :)

Playing this game was a unique experience. To be honest, I missed the letter at first. But once I opened it and started filling it out, the game just flowed smoothly. The words coming again and again creates an eerie atmospheric feel. It feels like the actual process of thinking...

Developer

Thank you, I'm glad I was able to create such a feeling bcs that was a goal!

Looks very cool and is really original and a great idea! The music is great and really relaxing <3 would you mind trying out mine as well?

Submitted(+1)

Really enjoyed the calming music. especially in jams the audio is often something not considered or mixed well. This was not the case here :)

Submitted(+1)

As a fan of non-linear storytelling this is absolutely beautiful, a brilliant concept for a game jam and probably one of my favorites so far. Great UI and music is well. Very minor suggestion, but some sound feedback would have been great. Keep it up!

Developer

Thanks! I was thinking about sound feedback but just couldn't get my hands to it :)

even though i only discovered 90% of the words and got stuck with the hints, i absolutely LOVED how unique this game is! the story is told by the letter conveyed by worded memories that need to be discovered, with the emotion behind it is the character himself not trusting what happened.

Developer(+1)

Thank you, even though it's a pity you were just 10% before finishing, because there's some kind of resoultion in the end!

Submitted(+1)

Loved this. The expanding text nails that feeling of a mind wandering in every direction at once, and the letter pulls it back together at the end. MASTERMIND'S WORK !! WELL DONE MY GUY IN SUCH A SHORT TIME !! KEEP UP DA GOOD WORK ! letter on its way now 10/10 GAME

Developer

Very nice experience, love the concept (I've been thinking about this kind of memory exploration gameplay for some time). I sent the letter ;)
