How does the game fit the theme?
Humanity blindly trusts food, media, pharma, and politics. In reality, none of them can be trusted and you are the hidden hand controlling all of them.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Everything was made from scratch during the jam, except the font and SFX.

How many people worked on the game?

I love  good incremental, and the jam incrementals I've played rarely have this much juice in them! It's a pretty creative take on the theme taken to an extreme, which I think is excellent in a jam game. It could use some balancing, though something like the bombs at least sense for having pretty dramatic effects. I thought some of the agitating options would provoke more revolution but I don't think the bar ever rose above 0% after ten or so upgrades.

It's fun to play and provocative!

Love the themes, politics, and philosophies this game explores. My only issue is that it's a little too doomer, and it feels like a complete manifestation of hatred for modern life. You give very broad criticisms to several topics at once without giving everything the nuanced discussion it deserves. It's very important that the people playing your game fully understand why the things you criticize are bad, but you should also consider some of the good modernism has brought humanity.

For example, Big Pharma isn't bad because it produces and distributes antidepressants and ADHD meds. Those medications actually help A LOT of people, like myself. Big Pharma's crimes are using its vast wealth and resources to price gouge life-saving medicine, bribe/lobby doctors to over-prescribe, and bribe/lobby politicians to deregulate them. Also, Ozempic and its derivatives were not originally meant for weight-loss; they were meant to help diabetic people manage their appetites and blood sugar. There are definitely some people who genuinely need the drug for weight loss though. It's just super overprescribed. I don't think your criticisms here have as much to do with modernism as much as they do capitalism. The culture breeding Big Pharma's issues are a symptom of our economic system first and foremost.

Onto the more doomer themes.... It feels like you view the world as devoid of hope. It's a little disheartening and VERY depressing.  I think it would help if you introduce more positive events that increase the likelihood  of revolution, and it shouldn't be as easy to dismiss/bribe your way out of it. The populace has genuinely no chance of forming a revolution. The highest my percentage got was 37%, and it would provide a much more positive message to the player if the world could win.

If you have any questions, arguments, and/or think I may have misinterpreted  your messaging, let me know. I gave a lot of criticisms, but I agree with the great majority of your messaging. Given the time crunch, I imagine there wasn't too much time to flesh everything out, and I think you did a great job on most things!

Respectfully, just because someone believes the message is little too doomer/disagrees with what the developer is saying doesn't mean the developer should change their message.

I'm not necessarily defending the game's themes, or disagreeing that there are nuances. I'm defending the developer's freedom as an artist to express their view, or a view, of the world. And consumers are free to agree/disagree/criticize. That's the beauty of art.

A fun incremental game and a good reminder to not spent too much time on social media.

Awesome game that reminds me a lot of Plague inc, with the added twist being to abuse the trust that humanity has in you. The person who is controlling every facete of the world they live in this is  super neat experience that feels like a complete experience.

Truly the best game of the jam so far. It’s real, brutally honest and hides nothing from you while also giving a very, very important message. 5/5

Thank you so much!

really loved the connection between trust no one and the real world - really enjoyable game

Such a cool game, just hoping we don't end up like this someday. Love how the screen gets more filled with things you unlock, really immersive! Very well done!

fun game, i played through the whole thing.  killed everyone, almost got the full tech tree before game ended.  a lot of the upgrades are funny.

it seems to throttle how many times you can click/shoot.  i didn't see a number or indicator for this, would be nice if there was some cue for how many clicks/"bullets" i have.

Developer(+1)

The crosshair turns red slowly with every click. If it turns completely red, you have to wait until it turns white again. Thanks for playing and feedback!

Good game, helps that I really enjoy incremental games atm 😄

I liked how the UI updated as you bought more things.  Small issue, I could not tell why the click would sometimes not work.

Really enjoyable short experience!

I love the details in the subreddits, discovered a new subreddit and changed my life forever. But I dont understand how the different upgrades affect other factors like fear and revolution etc.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! Simply, Fear increases by upgrading chaos etc., and Docility increases by upgrading social media etc. Both help to slow down the Revolution. For example, if you upgrade only chaos things, the rev increases so fast and you lose. I actually have a panel for the revolution ending, but it's not easy to trigger right now because of game jam balancing issues. :) Stay away from that sub btw :P.

I really liked the game. It's not too clear how the numbers work, but it's a fleshed out game from beginnig to end.
Not sure if the creator is pushing conspiracy or trying to inspire actual change. Hope it's the latter, in which case I'm a fan. Nice experience overall.

This was very cool and interesting concept it felt like a proper game well done

Nice kind clicker! :D

It is just was fun to gain money and open more and more upgrades. Though destroying the world and yourself was not that fun :)

Hello,

Neat little game. I've never enjoyed the cookie clicker genre (clicking repetitively isn't super fun to me lmao) but the idea is pretty creative. reminds me of a board game where you're trying to infect the world

Cheers!

This game got potential. Super enjoyable !

Really well made game. Basicly Plaque Inc, but instead of controlling a Virus, you control every sector to doom humanity. Really liked some of the nodes and hidden combos. The map changing with each upgrade was a nice touch. Well done!

Submitted(+1)

I like the visuals but I wish there was a bit more to it. Some more decision as to what thing to pick vs another. But for a 1 person team this is pretty good!

An excellent mirror to the current madness. Great accomplishment. Wish there was a bit more strategy involved but its definitely the genre's fault and not this particular game

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much. Actually, I wish there was more strategy too.
