How does the game fit the theme?
The game revolves around figuring out who to trust in a town divided by its beliefs about the ritual. Building trust unlocks more conversations, while limited time and actions determine how much the player can learn before the ritual takes place
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
We did use the Godot Extension Dialogic, everything else is made from scratch. Oh and the bgm is just some copyright free song.

Nice game! The portraits are very well drawn, and the story is interesting, though it feels a bit rushed at some points. But that's understandable for a game jam. Really nice work!
The narrator reminds me of Slay the Princess, which is one of my favorite games ever!

Congratulations on your first jam game. Everyone who submitted, ESPECIALLY first timers should be proud they finished something. It's an important step, but you submitted something beautiful. You have amazing art and story, something that not anyone can replicate. It's a rough market for visual novel style games but you did well, especially for your first time.
Nice little game, the narration peaked my interest and the art is absolutely stunning !

Character designs are great, i love the art some people are talking about how the pastor mocks the player actions and i think that's actually weird because it fits his personality as a character well and made me like the game more, congrats to both you and your girlfriend on your first jam, it was a cool little game

Wow, I love the character portraits! Really nice style.
Some minor suggestions to improve the game:
The grand sacrifice for our lord an saviour <== and
"pff, you still had energy to talk to people. How foolish" <== Please avoid evaluating the choices of the player like this. It's disrespectful.
The transition after the escape could be a black screen with a text. As it is currently it can easily be missed.
If you are interested in dialog mechanics please check out my game(s) - I'm innovating in this space.

hey! congrats on finishing up your very first game jam! hopefully one of many :)
I adored the artstyle! It has a great vibe and is nicely reminiscent of medieval characteristics, which was certainly the intention.
Dialogue felt mixed at times, it definitely seems 2 people wrote it, as certain moments feel less polished than others.
Characters had interesting stories which I believe would've only gotten better if there was more time, but such is the nature of a game jam!

I wrote most of the dialogue on the last day, so it's a bit messy at times haha. We plan to expand the story and polish the dialogue, thank you for the feedback! <3

Loved the art of this game! Reminded me of classic folklore books which fits perfectly for the vibe you were going for. The game was a fun and simple visual novel experience, overall I'd love to see it expanded upon with more dialog choices and endings!

Outstanding visuals, lovely sounds. Overall one of the best ones regarding look and feel I've played so far, if not the best. Pretty cool you came up with story and also quite a unique concept / gameplay. Great project!
