Really cool concept! At first it was frustrating but giving it a little more chance it became more fun. There is also a bug, after gicving the food sometimes it refveals a random food tray and even picks it up. Bugs are ok for the jam, really cool game.

wow!
such a fun usage of the theme!
really loved the game! ( hated that number ONE customer tho haha)
the art style and the audio are so  good!
a really great entry congrats!!

pretty creative idea, and quick to play and get the idea.  I had one customer that seemed to not want the food he wanted despite giving it to him three times?  I wish there was a way to tell this other than getting items later.

The customers with a 1 on their shirt lies to you about the order =D

well done

The game is fun, it reminds me of Penguin Diner, except way more hardcore, and that's the part I'm not sold on. I get the roguelike elements, and I did get pretty far into a few runs, but I think it needs a smoother difficulty curve. Most roguelikes start simple so you can get used to the mechanics; here it feels like every run is lost from the start until you've played enough of them.

Overall, a really cute game. I loved the little walking animation you made, and it's fun, which already counts for a lot. Congrats!

Wow I'm impressed ! You managed to put up a complete game in a week :o Mixing the classic food theme with lies and roguelite shop is fun too. I also like the way the characters vignettes are animated.

I noticed a small bug but couldn't find what caused it: sometimes when I wanted to catch an item, an item far way was picked instead. I don't know if it's of interest to you ?

This was incredibly done. At first I thought it was impossible until I upgraded. I feel like after losing, it should go straight to the upgrades screen though so you don't feel like you just lost and such! Just a minor improvement, that's all <3

Gave me Wilmot’s Warehouse vibes in a way, really interesting to have the menu and the orders be slightly jumbled each play. Had to stop myself, I'll come back to it though, just kept wanting another run. It's brutal in the beginning though, especially with the conveyor just overrunning, but I think that's part of the point. I also got a run where all the customers wanted Salmon, so ensuring that customers have a chance of ordering the thing that's furthest along on the conveyor could be another interesting meta-power.

I do wish the Trust Me Bro level choice though changed the next '1' in line, just not the next customer, as it's not always aligned with who's coming up next in line which makes it not an interesting choice half the time.

I also noticed you can serve the same customer twice as they're leaving, oops. I also wanted to run around the right and above to the other side of the conveyor, but that didn't quite work. It lets you get up there but then selection doesn't quite work. Like Gedig said a little highlight to show which item you're going to pick up would be useful. I found myself grabbing the wrong thing sometimes with items that were close or as they moved. Potentially letting you click to grab nearby things to have keyboard+mouse as a control scheme could be handy.

Really great job, this is an amazing game!

Developer

thank you for reporting all those bugs! The turn in is supposed to turn off as they're walking away. There is an invisible collision stopping you from going above the belt, and the item pickup is supposed to be narrow. I think adding a highlight to items/covers that are selected would be cheating at this point, but I can def resize the detection to what I intended.   But I might add the highlight (as well as a couple other features) after the jam. Thanks for playing!

I really like this game! I think I would come back to this to grind like crazy ^^ I do wish that dropping/returning items was a possibility though

Love the little wobble on the walk anim haha, though I would've loved to see some visual indication of which tray/object was going to be interacted with, especially with everything constantly moving and not being able to drop/discard them after. Overall really well built for a jam game though, and I was really pleasantly surprised when I came back and my upgrades had been saved!

Developer

Thank you thank you! and yes, Saving/Serialization is def MVP for me! especially in games with progression

The meta-progression in this game is neat!

This was indeed, a very inconvenient store, love it!

really enjoyed the art style and the gameboy feel, no real constructive feedback to provide, nice job

Nice Job!

Loved the take on the theme. Also bonus points for making a... memory game roguelite? Lol. Two things: 1 - it's mental to go to a restaurant and order stuff you don't want, and 2 - nobody should ever want the kale. :P  Still, great job,

Fun and unexpected concept while staying in theme, and the shop upgrades really help replayability. The sound effect on the results screen was the icing on top!

Wow really makes me want to try the sambal. Is it too spicy? Nice game you have here.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I don't think it is too spicy, but I'm not a good gauge. I regularly get the hot ones last dab sauce 'cause it's tasty.

The game is very cute and more in-depth than I initially expected! The sound effects and music are also hilarious and fitting. I will have to try to do a full run of this game
