I have bought incremental games with a similar scope to yours!
I really like how you have interpreted the theme, as most of us have made games about the player not trusting others, but yours is the opposite.
My only complain is that the "inquisition" phases can get quite long in the late game.
What an awesome game, played it till my browser crashed :D Would love to see a full version of this game.
Very cool idea for incremental, the basics are very well implemented and work as expected. but what really kept me playing was the inquisition! It is a brilliant idea to have the end of a round playing as a kind of auto battler. The fact that you can fight back with citizens plays perfectly into this idea.
I would love to see this even further in a full version. Like in vampire survivor where you can defeat death after a while would be could to defeat the inquisition after A LOT of updates and hours of playing.
Love it 10/10!
Spectacular game! I really like the level up tree and all your idea of abilities and perks of the caster and converted! Reminds me a lot of Infectonator the World Dominator, great job!
Reminds me a bit of plague inc with the whole spreading thing. I really enjoyed progressing through my upgrades to infect more people.
Very well made game, especially in 1 week solo ! It would be nice to have a more interactive role when the Inquisition arrives, like a second phase where we can cast spells and try defeat the inquisitors. And it could open new levels when you manage to actually kill all Inquisitor waves in this second phase.
But very nice game!
Very cool incremental! The first 5-10 minutes are really fun. Towards the end you spend more time watching the inquisitors cut through your guys than you actually spend on playing the game. Maybe being able to do stuff while that's going on would be cool. Anyway, very fun game!
That was quite fun and the setting was unique in this jam. Maybe the "You won the game"-screen could be a tiny bit more epic ;)
My monkey brain was completely hooked until I unlocked all seven deadly sins. Vampire Survivors meets Cookie Clicker, very nice!
Very well made incremental game! I enjoyed every second of it!
I recorded my playthrough and gave some honest feedback here (your game starts after I'm done with the 1st one):
Keep up the good work!A very simple but really fun idle game. Before I knew it, half an hour had already gone by! The connection to the theme feels a little loose, but that didn’t stop me from having a great time.
This game would be perfect for Steam with a bit more content and polish. Creative, satisfying, and unique!
Well I think i probably played this the most out of anything so far, the numbers-go-up slaughterfest was super addictive! Definitely one of my faves, awesome work.
Dang I can't believe this was done by one person. I really enjoyed the game and caught myself playing a lot of times. Good Work!
This is a really well executed incremental game, I really like that the upgrades unlock new behaviour and aren't just simple stuff like : augment damage by x%. kinda crazy that you pulled this off in a week. navigation could be done with the mouse as well which would get rid of the keyboard which isn't very useful. It was also very satisfying seeing the inquisitors arrive and seeing all hell break loose
This was very fun !
How did you manage to do this entire game in a week :o :o :o
Everything was really cool, to me it looked like a game I'd play on Steam. The only two things maybe:
- I didn't always understand clearly/simply what all the upgrades did exactly (but I mean it's an incremental game, so at some point I suppose it's normal - I don't play incremental games a lot so I'm not sure)
- Sometimes characters were out of the screen so I couldn't see (and sometimes handle) them. During the last 2-3 runs I heard them fighting or spawning and detecting me, and I couldn't see them.
I love the feeling of everything going nuts in a janky puddle of pixels and sounds when you increase your crazy-sorcerer power ! (I mean this in a good way, it made me smile)
Was the mouse mechanic inspired by "How to feed a black hole" ?
Thanks for the feedback game definitely have a problem understanding what's happening on the screen(if you want to understand). I know about "How to Feed a Black Hole," but I've never played it. I've only played three incremental games, and the last one was "Bills Must Be Paid," which I think is where I got the mouse control mechanics from.
Hi ! Thanks for your reply :)
Honestly I think it's not a big issue, I had a lot of fun playing your game.
I didn't know Bills Must Be Paid, it looks fun ! I saved it in another tab to play it after the jam hahah
How to Feed a Black Hole has a similar mechanic of moving your mouse around - but it's to grab things to feed a black hole to make it bigger. It was issued on Steam a few months ago and was the first incremental game I bought.
I absolutely enjoyed this game, it gives off plague inc vibes mixed with necromancy + possession. The game loop is super addictive and I kept playing even after obtaining the ending. The pixel art style is very pleasing to look at and the sound effects really gave off plague inc (with the music) and I also love the sound effects the inquisition would make as they would run in, I loved hearing more and more of the sound effects playing as more and more would spawn in.
Overall, amazing work, especially as a one man army. You have made an amazing game. I wish you all the best in any future projects/jams.
The idea is that you spread a mind control spell, and the controlled ones arouse suspicion in others and, if fully suspected, can completely report them.
When I was brainstorming, I came to the idea that I want to create a game where you are the reason that no one in the place trusts anyone.
But somewhere along the way, this idea may have gotten a little lost. Especially when you've already leveled up
Super great effort, especially for a solo game. I thoroughly enjoyed and maxed out the tree! I would say that the inquisitor fights at the end of each day can feel a little long, especially since the visual/auditory feedback on your effects taking place are a bit weak, so it doesn't really feel like you're reaping the reward, rather just waiting.
Would love to see this expanded upon! It would need some extra wrinkles. By the end of this you basically just take over the whole town after one crowd, so it would need something extra, or more idle aspects.
