A very simple but really fun idle game. Before I knew it, half an hour had already gone by! The connection to the theme feels a little loose, but that didn’t stop me from having a great time.
This game would be perfect for Steam with a bit more content and polish. Creative, satisfying, and unique!
Well I think i probably played this the most out of anything so far, the numbers-go-up slaughterfest was super addictive! Definitely one of my faves, awesome work.
Dang I can't believe this was done by one person. I really enjoyed the game and caught myself playing a lot of times. Good Work!
This is a really well executed incremental game, I really like that the upgrades unlock new behaviour and aren't just simple stuff like : augment damage by x%. kinda crazy that you pulled this off in a week. navigation could be done with the mouse as well which would get rid of the keyboard which isn't very useful. It was also very satisfying seeing the inquisitors arrive and seeing all hell break loose
This was very fun !
How did you manage to do this entire game in a week :o :o :o
Everything was really cool, to me it looked like a game I'd play on Steam. The only two things maybe:
- I didn't always understand clearly/simply what all the upgrades did exactly (but I mean it's an incremental game, so at some point I suppose it's normal - I don't play incremental games a lot so I'm not sure)
- Sometimes characters were out of the screen so I couldn't see (and sometimes handle) them. During the last 2-3 runs I heard them fighting or spawning and detecting me, and I couldn't see them.
I love the feeling of everything going nuts in a janky puddle of pixels and sounds when you increase your crazy-sorcerer power ! (I mean this in a good way, it made me smile)
Was the mouse mechanic inspired by "How to feed a black hole" ?
Thanks for the feedback game definitely have a problem understanding what's happening on the screen(if you want to understand). I know about "How to Feed a Black Hole," but I've never played it. I've only played three incremental games, and the last one was "Bills Must Be Paid," which I think is where I got the mouse control mechanics from.
Hi ! Thanks for your reply :)
Honestly I think it's not a big issue, I had a lot of fun playing your game.
I didn't know Bills Must Be Paid, it looks fun ! I saved it in another tab to play it after the jam hahah
How to Feed a Black Hole has a similar mechanic of moving your mouse around - but it's to grab things to feed a black hole to make it bigger. It was issued on Steam a few months ago and was the first incremental game I bought.
This was fun and I'm sad it's so short.
I absolutely enjoyed this game, it gives off plague inc vibes mixed with necromancy + possession. The game loop is super addictive and I kept playing even after obtaining the ending. The pixel art style is very pleasing to look at and the sound effects really gave off plague inc (with the music) and I also love the sound effects the inquisition would make as they would run in, I loved hearing more and more of the sound effects playing as more and more would spawn in.
Overall, amazing work, especially as a one man army. You have made an amazing game. I wish you all the best in any future projects/jams.
Wow, thanks for such kind words. I'm glad that you had fun! I really put a lot of effort into it
i dont see the theme but the game is really well made and fleshed out and the game play loop is fun
The idea is that you spread a mind control spell, and the controlled ones arouse suspicion in others and, if fully suspected, can completely report them.
When I was brainstorming, I came to the idea that I want to create a game where you are the reason that no one in the place trusts anyone.
But somewhere along the way, this idea may have gotten a little lost. Especially when you've already leveled up
Super great effort, especially for a solo game. I thoroughly enjoyed and maxed out the tree! I would say that the inquisitor fights at the end of each day can feel a little long, especially since the visual/auditory feedback on your effects taking place are a bit weak, so it doesn't really feel like you're reaping the reward, rather just waiting.
Would love to see this expanded upon! It would need some extra wrinkles. By the end of this you basically just take over the whole town after one crowd, so it would need something extra, or more idle aspects.
Loved it from top to bottom, made me feel so evil!
This might be one of my favorite games of the jam! I love incremental games and this hit all the right spots :)
Also reminded me a bit of our game because of the autobattle part when the inquisitors arrive. After I upgraded everything to max the fights take a long time, so maybe a speed up would be nice to have at some point.
Would like to see this idea expanded on after the game jam :)
I am so addicted to the genre. Played through the whole game. Nice idea using 7 deadly sins as upgrade. Loved the settings, visuals and gameplay progression. I'd suggest you add a speed up system for fighting sections as they can be so lengthy. Well done with your entry!
I do love me a good incremental game. I had a blast playing it. The pacing felt great and seeing the chaos upon the inquistors arriving was fun aside from the “gulp” sound being spammed ahah. Congratz!
Nice game!
This is a vibe, for sure. If I were to change anything, I think it'd be better looking with a pixel-art UI framework for the skill tree, to give it a more consistent feel.
This is one of the few games in the jam I wanted to play more. I'm a sucker for roguelites. One thing though, the "spreading" section of the tree was kind of too slow to be useful. Maybe spread out the "center" talents into two sections and put their higher levels on the outskirts of the talent tree?
Yes, a clever idea, but only if I develop it into a full-fledged game. Thanks for the feedback!
I love incremental games and loved this one as well! Spread mechanic is good, scale is good. Maybe could be a bit more challenging. Well done!
This game is awesome! I really like the loop ending not via a timer but something you can play around. And paired with how the bar ticks up it feels like theres actually quite a bit of weight to where you steer your effect in the early game. The inquisitors coming in at the end of the round also is a nice satisfying touch! Very very well done. Only comment is that the colors for the upgrades made me think there was only one level per upgrade. Reading comprehension failure on my part though. But great sound, great visuals, great game!
I like idle games and this one too! I played until I won because it made a lot of fun to watch the animations at the end of each round! Sounds are on point!
I would have liked some way to fail overall, but that's a very small note (and often not what people want in an incremental game).
Otherwise, this was very engaging. Loved the two-phase core loop here of trying to herd sheep and stave off the inquisitors, but then also having ways to deal with them once they arrive. Very neat!
