How does the game fit the theme?
Buy and sell a bunch of junk inside your own pawn shop. But look out for scammers - you can't trust anybody!
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

This game is so cool! The UI is great and I loved how the coloring of the price sliders gives you feedback about how likely it is to be accepted. It seems maybe a little too easy to make big profits, since unless I'm mistaken anyone will always buy anything, even if they only sell one item? My only complaint is that the snake mini-game was a little half-baked. It's very important for snake games to have input buffering so you can do things like hit two keys in rapid sequence to make a u-turn. I guess that's ok though since it was essentially an infinite money machine!
Thank you for the nice feedback. We actually made the first two in-game days easier for the player. After that it picks up and you will have more difficulty to scam but also will be more likely to get scammed. We debated if the entry point in the game should be just as tough and decided to make it more accessible but some player like you didn't seem to need that :). The snake mini game is mainly an easter egg and it's not supposed to distract too much from our main game. There are for sure more polished snake clones than ours :D.
Everything was very cohesive, the premise was great, & overall, an enjoyable game! Also, I appreciate the addition of an arcade machine (playing Snake was where I made most of my money) & an online leader board (very cool!).❤️
Thanks for the nice review of our game! We took the final 36 hours of the jam only to make these things more polished and it makes us very happy when people like you appreciate it. <3
I think this is the best one I ve played so far.
5 arcade cabinets out of 5! <3
It hooked me right from the start. Great concept, cool art, smooth gameplay, and so much polish - from the progression perks to the links to other top jam entries built right into the game :D
Thank you so much, also for really looking at every aspect of our game. You even found the easter egg in the arcade :). Our sole programmer did this over night as a surprise, even to us, the other two team members and we loved it just as much as he did.
Best game I've played so far, it was so fun, had so much depth (for a game jam), it was amazing, well done! 5/5
Oh that is such high praise. Thank you very much for your super nice feedback!
One of my favorites so far! Great take on the theme, awesome execution of a incremental game. The cabinet with the other games from the Jam is so cool! Managed to get all achievements, had so much fun with this, amazing job!
Well you brought proof that you liked it if you played it long enough to see this screen :). Thank you so much for the kind review. We had hoped it would be this entertaining to others but you of course can never be sure until you get feedback like that :)
Awesome! Congratulations on completing the game. It's great to see that people enjoy spending time on it.
You're also the first person to mention the easter egg! When I found it mid-jam after our programmer included it without telling us I laughed my ass off!
All around a really solid vibe I really enjoyed.
Thank you! Great to hear you had a good time in the pawn shop!
Oh my days i didnt know that scamming people could be this JOYOUS, I really enjoyed the game, the game play loop and stuff, i even scammed 1 guy for $1000 LOL
Nothing beats a good scammin'!
Thank you for your comment :>
Really fun concept! I liked the idea. The gameplay loop is simple but entertaining, and upgrading the shop gives you a nice sense of progression. Great job!
Thank you so much for the nice feedback. The core loop and making it fun was the most important part for us.
Thank you! Sticking to the simple gameplay loop without adding too much to it allowed us to really focus on different aspects like enhancing the haggling, or adding in achievements and upgrades.
Really liked the game. It has a nice art, good sound design and interesting gameplay. I also liked that after each day I could buy upgrades which led to better income. Overall the idea is not that unique as I saw multiple other similar games but this game is really well made and polished. Good job on the game!
Thank you very much for the nice review. Yeah I think there are a few popular settings/genres this setting and the pawn shop was apparently one of them :). We are happy the polish makes it stand out for you anyway.
Played this one for a loooong time it is crazy how this game is complete, I scammed a grandma for thousands by selling teapots then she scammed me back by selling me a legendary water pipe that was indeed a trash water pipe 5/5 lol. the polish is really good and it is very nice that we have many characters with different personalities. also the arcade console idea is sooooo cool. congrats!
Thank you so much for the nice review. And just fyi that grandma scams everyone, including us the developers ;). To make the arcade usable for the player was a rather late easter egg idea of our single programmer and he bascially also surprised the rest of the team overnight with the polish of it :)
This game taught me a lot about scamming people, thanks!! Great art and really satisfying game feel:)
Thank you very much for the nice feedback :)
willy valentine and that grimy shop with the chalk outline on the floor is such a strong look, and customers wandering in with a teapot over their head and a patience bar ticking down is a great hook for a haggling game. the pawn bible with a customer directory and awards makes it feel like a full game, nice work
Thank you for the nice review. Makes me personally happy how you are picking up on the scene we were setting. We had a bit of a brain storm session even with the name of the player character for that exact reason :)
I really enjoyed this one and can see it on my steam deck one day.
I enjoy unlocking NPCs and the bargain mechanic, you have a strong loop in there. The graphics and sound goes well together and reminded me of clay fighters / Monkey Island.
Very fun and with room to be extra chaotic.
Thank you for the high praise. Monkey Island was a core inspiration for our style so the fact, that you saw the resemblance is incredible high praise. We are beyond happy to see that you and others enjoy our game in all its facets. We had hoped to make an experience that felt complete and polished but of course you never know until others get to experience it with fresh eyes.
This game is incredible and has one of the most satisfying gameplay loops of the whole jam. The artstyle is quirky and cool as well which I like
Thank you so very much. Your words on our art style are especially high praise for us because I loved the style of your title screen so much.
Absolutely love the main mechanic! It feels really good to buy something for dirt cheap and sell it high ^^
Thank you so much. That was our main concern to make the core fit the theme and still feel fun to play.
Haha great take on the theme, and good execution. Easy to understand and pick up!
My only critic would be on the audio, maybe have ambient sounds or something to make it more immersive.
Apart from that, great game!
Thank you for the nice feedback. Yeah none of us are experts when it comes to sound. One of us did the 3 different tracks you hear in the background of the main game and we think they sound and fit great, but yeah no dedicated composer between the 3 of us so far - so definitely a department we can get better in :)
The idea was really funny and cute! I really enjoyed it, and I loved the sound design too. Great job!
Thank you very much for the nice feedback. Glad you enjoyed our game. :)
I did enjoy my time playing this! very good idea
Thank you for your nice feedback
The UI could use some additional polish, but overall this is a fun game. I enjoyed playing it!
Thank you, always glad for feedback. Could you be more specific what you missed while trying out our game? Hope you had fun besides that :)
Played for way longer than I intended to. It has a really great gameloop and is kind of addicting. clicking the characters is just a little annoying, because they move so fast
Thank you for the nice feedback. Yeah we thought about the walking speed of the customers too. You are right that they are quite quick sometimes. We chose the hustle and stress feeling over convenience in that situation but I get, that it might not work perfectly always. Hope you had fun anyway :)
