How does the game fit the theme?
The game is an investigation where most witnesses are omitting details or downright lying to the player. Any of them can be the culprit.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
The entire game was made from scratch except for the music and SFX (credits in description)

Absolutely amazing game, me and my fiancee had such a good time playing it! It is so cool to see a procedurally generated murder mystery game!
Making a procedural generated investigation game has been something I've been wanting to try for awhile. It's really cool seeing some of the ideas I had here like witness testimonies being generated and having to compare them with other clues. You did a really great job with this. Bravo!
Thanks for playing, I appreciate it ! Keep working toward it
Probably my favorite investigation game in this jam. Listen, the idea is great, the art is good, the sound design is great too. But the idea of having a procedular generate scenario is GOLD, I really think you should work on it, refine it more, and make it bigger so every new situation really feels new. I loved that about the game. Great job!
Thanks a lot for the kind word. I'll probably work on an extended version after the jam. Glad you liked the idea as much as I did.
Really creative idea. I like the concept of procedular generated scenarios and the replayability of it. In some cases I got some testimonies that had duplicate clues like the example:
"At 22 I was still in my room. I stayed for 40 minutes where I stayed for 20 minutes.
On the way I saw nobody"
Thanks for playing.
Those are my fault. They're not duplicate, just badly formated. It means that the guest stayed in their room for 60 minutes (from 22 to 23). Thanks for the report, I'll fix that in the final version.
Interesting concept! I really like the idea of procedurally generating the crime and the hotel, and it's executed quite well. However, a few things could be improved: I'm not really sure how to properly solve the case, even though I thought I had found the murder.
Good job !
Thanks for playing !
The first message is supposed to gives some hints but here's the gist of it :
- Every guest gets assigned a bedroom at the start of the night. They can't move more than 3 room away from it
- There are clues in each room to help the player guess its owner
- Guests will never admit to entering the crime scene and will rather lie
- Guests will never admit to seeing the killer, even if they're in the same room as them
- Sometimes, a bloodstained footprint next to the victim will indicate the type of shoes the killer wear
- When a smoker gets into a corridor, an ashtray is left behind
By cross examining all these infos you should be able to solve any crime the game generate.
This is really impressive! The game is very smooth and polished, very well designed! I particularly enjoyed the procedurally generated aspect, and the art style was very nice.
Thanks a bunch ! The procedural murder system was a pain to get to work so good to hear
really loved the vibe and the art style , great game!!
Thanks for playing !
Man, what a charming game, had a lot of fun! :))
Thanks for the kind word !
Nice job! Art direction felt really cohesive and charming. Played really smoothly and was a good time, at least for me, not for the guests lol
I'm really happy with the way this one looks and sound. Thanks for the kind word !
Cool idea! But a very tough one to execute on in such a small time limit. Constructing a compelling mystery procedurally would be an immense challenge to even a full team with no time constraints. I think the variance introduced by the generation makes it too difficult to guarantee that the mystery is a fun one to solve. I appreciate how much of a swing you took though. I also like the construction animation and the other small touches you included. Nice job!
Absolutely right. My end goal was to make a bit sized Shadows of doubt so I can understand that I have all the same problem as that game.
Still, thanks for the kind word and for sticking around. I hope you had a few good cases.
The beginning of the game is a bit confusing, a dialog or show the room of the victim would be great i think. But the artstyle and the audio are nice, and the game is fun to play, congrats !
Absolutely, good idea. I'll make sure to add a zoom into the crime scene and a small dialog if I ever make an extended version.
Thanks for playing !
I really liked the visuals and the idea of how to navigate between the rooms. Felt really nice and coherent! Good job :)
Thanks for playing ! I was really proud of the whole drawer UI thing.
very cool and intuitive gameplay, a bit easy in my oppinion but its fun nonetheless.
Nice job.
It's pretty trivial once the get the hang of it eh ?
Thanks for playing
Nice game! Very chill and relaxing. The replayability is awesome
Good job!
Thanks for the kind word ! Really liked your entry
I loved this game! The investigation mechanics were really well done, so I voted with maximum stars!
Thanks for playing and for the kind word.
Have a good one.
cool idea and I like that it's procedural. interested to see if you continue building on it to add more dynamic content.
Thanks for the kind word. This was a joy to work on so It's likely that I'll at least make a full, more fleshed out version.
I managed to guess correctly on my very first attempt for the first two manors I played. This made me think: maybe I can just accuse everyone (even the investigatoris not to be trusted)! It's a great game that really forces you to draw your own conclusions. One suggestion for improvement: I noticed the suspects' names were missing from the selection screen. I had to rely entirely on remembering what my chosen suspect looked like to make the right choice.
Thanks for playing and good point. I'll be sure to add the names if I ever get back to this game.
Have a good one.
Nice game! I really liked the visuals and atmosphere. Cool idea to do it procedurally. It was a bit hard to connect the clues sometimes.
The game can be pretty tricky when the generation gets in the way, I agree.
Have a good one though, thanks for playing.
Loved the idea a lot, I got a lot of murderers. Maybe less attempts would be better, felt a bit too easy.
I realised that 3 was way too much right after the jam ended unfortunately. I completely agree.
Thanks for stopping by, have a good one.
Quite repetitive, Its cool that everything is procedurally generated, but i think if all of the chapters were hand made, i would have enjoyed it alot more, just like hitman woa
That's both the challenge and the problem with procedural generation eh ? Infinite variation of the very same murder.
Still, thanks for stopping by. Have a good one.
