How does the game fit the theme?
WHO DID THAT?! explores “Trust No One” through the relationship between the angel NPCs and the demon player. The angel NPCs begin as neutral strangers, but each prank—whether a poke, thrown tomato, or banana peel—creates suspicion and slowly breaks down their trust in one another. As investigations escalate, innocent angels are manipulated into blaming and confronting each other, while the demon player must stay hidden and avoid being exposed.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Nothing. All the codes and assets were designed and produced starting from the moment the theme was announced.

This is honestly one of my favorite games ive played so far in this game jam. The game is very fun, hard but still very possible and the art style is very pretty.
Thx for ur play and helpful comment. Your work are also amazing.
First off let me start with the good , I think the artstyle is really cute and it's a pretty interesting take on the theme. I like the base premise
Now I'm going to critique a lot of things (really sorry in advance) because I had a pretty frustrating experience playing. I'll try to break down the issues that I encountered and some possible fixes.
I found the way you interact with shopping carts is quite frustrating, I would sometimes get hit by just standing next to them, not even in their path and it seemed kinda random if it hit me or not. I am not a fan of the knockback in general because I got knocked a ton and i never felt like i had a good grasp on where it would actually stop. They would also be triggered form from a pretty considerable distance for example on the final level I would try to pick up a tomato or banana and I was visibly far away form the shopping carts and instead of picking up the item I would instead trigger the shopping cart, I had to stand in a specific spot to even pick up the tomato. I think it's because the trigger zone was way too big
Sometimes obstacles would be laid out right in the path and it would be pretty awkward to get around them especially considering that their hitboxes are pretty big (the puddles for example, I had to stay at a safe distance to not accidentally slip)
Another thing is that using J isn't always responsive, I stood by characters or by items on multiple occasions and it simply just wouldn't register especially in more crammed spaces it wanted me to be oddly specific with where I touched and at what distance. I also found the way the poking direction to be a bit whack, I get that it aims in the direction you last moved but the character only having 2 facing directions instead of 8 made it very confusing. Whenever I stood by a character and I wanted to poke my brain expected to just poke in the direction i'm facing but it would just poke in the last direction I walked.
I personally would bind the poke to left click instead and have the character's finger (or the item) track the direction of the cursor by rotating around the character. That way it would both easily let you poke in the direction you want and help with aiming the tomatoes more easily and circumvent the awkward wrong aim direction situations.
there is a bit of a problem with the surveillance enemies too. It would have been helpful if there at least have a gradual turn of the detection zone or some kind of visual que that they are turning so they wouldn't just instantly flip and kill me because I was in the detection zone. it does seem to be a This one is not as bad but it still caused me to lose a few times.
Finally the AI just gets stuck on corners sometimes and the only way to get them unstuck is to just risk it and get close to them and hope you can run away fast enough. In one of the levels (one of the ones where the surveillance enemy goes in a circle) because of the layout of the level the enemy was pretty much guaranteed to get stuck on a corner so I had to lure them in the opposite order to avoid that. It may be because the hitbox is square? Not sure
I hope you find it helpful, I hope it wasn't too harsh, still enjoyed it but there were small buggy annoyances that kept coming up
Thank you so much for the suggestion. Receiving such thoughtful and genuinely useful feedback will definitely guide us as we continue improving the game!!
The placement and collision of the shopping carts definitely weren’t designed well enough. I often get stuck on them myself while playtesting. In a future update, we plan to reduce and better visualize their interaction range so they feel less unpredictable.
The empty-hand poke also has some interaction issues with NPCs. In particular, the pink NPC in the top-left corner of Level 5 can be pretty frustrating to interact with, even for me. This is definitely something we need to fix as soon as possible, so thank you for pointing it out!
Overall, thank you so much for taking the time to play the game carefully and give us such thoughtful criticism. That kind of feedback is one of the biggest forms of support we could ask for!!
This is super adorable and fun to play. I am in love with the artstyle TvT it's so cute. I would make for a really useless demon, I keep sabotaging myself (but it's so funny to see the little mc slip and fall I can't)
THX for enjoying!! We’re glad that we could bring you an interesting game experience!
Gameplay is very clever and funny. Great work

The gameplay is really funny, and the character designs are super cute!
I got a little stuck on the third level, though. I threw a tomato at the person in the top-left, but she wouldn’t follow me, so I wasn’t really sure what I was supposed to do next.

After throwing a tomato at an interactable NPC, they’ll investigate the spot where it landed. At that point, you need to use the finger poke again to get their attention and make them chase you.
Very cute and interesting game, concept and artstyle! Great job!

This game is really good. Beautiful levels, characters. And it was made from scratch? Wow guys, Great work! :)
One of the best games I played during this jam.
THX for enjoying!! Your game is great too! ;D
Beautiful itch page! The art is so cute! The concept is hiliarious and I like the character designs! I love playing as a little gremlin agent of chaos hehehe! I was stuck on level 3 where it kept hitting the carts instead of the person to aggro. The sound effects are so mischevious and silly, and I love the bgm. Overall great work!

In Level 3, you first need to use a tomato to attract the pink NPC’s attention. We did mention this in the in-game menu hints, but it may not have been clear enough. We’ll work on making it more noticeable in a future update. Thanks so much for your feedback!
I can't get pass the third stage. The manager sounds the alarm and i try to get the pink angel to chase me , but she just stands there. Lovely game. Good art, cozy atmosphere for a little menace theme game. Salute for creativity.

I think in Level 7, there is indeed a pink NPC in the top-left corner that can be a bit difficult to interact with, and it may take a few tries. We’ll fix this in a future update. Thank you so much for your feedback!
Very cute game love the silly take on the theme very unique one for sure! Love the art very very cute <3

Cool graphics and incredibly polished sound effects. An interesting take on the theme that turns the simple “don't trust anyone” into a puzzle game!
