How does the game fit the theme?
You are in a dungeon and must make a decision to "Trust" or "Nope" various random encounters. There are a few criteria you will use to determine if you should trust the encounter or not. The boss must not be trusted at all... I really enjoyed making this and have a lot more ideas for this concept but may add them into a new project or into this game with an update if anyone is interested :) THANKS FOR PLAYING! and good luck everyone!

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Concept, Writing, Design and Development by Sinplea. Cover art by Sinplea with the use of the screenshot provided from Fellors free black knight asset, linked on the games page. The various enemy encounter art assets and backgrounds were all collected as free to use assets from the unity asset store, also linked on games page. The heart, Music and SFX were also from free sources listed on the games page! Code was written from scratch in C# using Visual Studio 2022 and I used Unity 2022 to put it at all together and build it! I am sorry this is so short, I had a lot more ideas I wanted to add but was not able to get them into the game.

I love the art style and animation.

It's a nice, short game. The visual is simple but very cool. Great work :)

Pretty short and cool game! The theming is really nice and I like the papers please-like kinda style of the game. Though I feel like there' s not much incentive of trusting people, maybe the boss could be harder and the people could be allies when trusted (the correct ones)? The songs and sound effects are quite fitting and the graphics are pretty cool though it does need a bit more polish to make it much more awesome! Overall, this was a cool game but needs a bit of polish, but still, for a one person team, its quite impressive! Great work!

thank you. it was too short - and I should have spent the whole week on it but I didn't for a number of reasons.. There was a lot I do wish to have added, I did want to have people you trust to join you on the boss fight for example. I appreciate you playing and your kind review :)

That's fair! But hey, there's always time after the jam to improve it further if you'd like!

Pretty solid entry, I loved the overall setup and gameplay especially with the matching art style. Gameplay was easy to engage and still challenging enough.

I had fun, but I didn't really see any reason to trust anyone.

that's the theme haha

Shortest was refreshing: set up the problem, work out the logic, rinse and repeat. It works very well. Good use of assets; the game's look was consistent.

Well done.

I really appreciate your review :)

I really loved the animations, and honestly, they remind me a lot of Undertale. I feel like that's the kind of system you were going for, right?

Developer

You are not the first person to say this and Undertale had nothing to do with development of this but I can see the comparisons.

Well done for completing the jam with a solid entry solo... It shows that you enjoyed making the game, it is very fun for players too :))

The game fits the jam’s theme really well and focuses directly on it. I think the game is great—it’s simple and short, but very easy to understand. I really like the atmosphere as well. Great job!

I saw the replay on twitch and thanks for hooking up the YouTube. sorry my game was so short, it was cool to see you play it. had a lot more ideas but I just didn't have much time at all to develop this project which sucks. I didn't think anyone would want more

Oh, trust me, man, video games are an art. No matter what, you will always have someone enjoying your game the same way people enjoy other art forms like movies or music!

If you ever want some people to run ideas by, or want them to play-test your games, you can always ask in our server. I would especially always be down to help out!

Clean simple game. nice work!

Really nice game, but it was quite short and wasn't as rewarding as I had hoped, as it was hard to tell if I actually got one "right" or "wrong", and I had way too many lives, so I could fuck up a couple times. But overall, it was quite fun.
