How does the game fit the theme?
In this game, you assume identities and make moves to seduce your dates into paying for your dinner. You are the suspicious one here!
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Interesting take on the theme, I think it has potential!
Some balancing might be required: the Doctor job ain't really useful (you only have 10$ at the beginning so you can't afford to pay 15 and get the bonus, same with the second as you have 30 but 75% of 50$ is 37,5), 3rd date is impossible to beat even as we don't get a chance to play more cards, or increase permanently their effects. The Ponder card is not really useful here as it's too costly for what it brings (the base card diversity is low, if it would bring some of the more powerful cards, then it would be interesting to play). Don't take all these comments as harsh, they are really meant to help you improve what I found a bit frustrating, and I'd be happy to play next versions !
Fun concept and good visuals and audio! Maybe some more contextualization on why the different options work better or worse would help it be easier to understand and more fun :)
Roguelite deckbuilder catfishing simulator. What a combo!
Really fun game!! Who would've thought a dating game could be turned into a card game? XD
I especially loved your art style and the whole concept! That fish was so adorable that I genuinely wanted to pay for him... (Oh no, I'm too broke for this TT)
The card mechanics also feel really well thought out! There's actually a lot to consider when deciding which cards to play, and I could spend ages thinking about my choices XD
Really fun and creative game!!
The whole package of this game is super chill, it's really well put together! I really enjoyed digging into this world. Was there any hints/impact on which role you chose besides the power-up? It'd definitely be nice to have a few more tooltips in places, especially on the cards for their abilities. I never did quite understand what gaslighting did, and I never saw a reason to draw cards with Ponder, I basically always had something useful to do in hand.
I did see the card drag issue someone else mentioned, I also did get offered the same card for my initial additional card, small things. Should the enemy hand block thing have said reduces incoming deductions? It mentioned increases which confused me at first.
The characters were great. I really love all the polish that went into this to get the core idea together!
What a fun premise! The weird creatures and their one-liners were cute and funny. I see the Slay The Spire influences, but you did a great job putting your own twist on it. The whole game is very well executed. Great work!
I didn't see any cards that let me "block", and therefore didn't understand the purpose of "gaslight". Did I miss something or did blocking not make it into the game in time?
this is such a cool game, i hate using the word cozy since its a fairly empty expression nowadays but this game was very very cozy. I think with some polish and a slightly clearer point system youve got a really great short game on your hands. BIG shoutout to everyone who worked on art and sound for this game, excellent job!
THANK YOU!! i'm def going to do a bunch of updates post jam :)
The game was really fun!! Love that we are trying to trick the other to pay us lol. I think there was some bug when we pick the card and stop picking it? it froze like for a sec, but no issue then. But other than that great job!! And also love the dialogues.
oh yes that's a bug i need to work on post-jam!! thanks for letting me know and for playing!!
Very fun setting for a card game! I wasn't entirely sure what everything did, but I loved the quips and quotes, and can imagine this turning into a fully fledged game with additional cards, mechanics and dates!
thank you!!
I'm always a sucker for deckbuilders, and paired with this setting, it feels super fresh! I would have loved to craft some heavier combo synergies, but since it wraps up after three dates anyway, it makes for the perfect appetizer. Really well done!
def working on adding more synergies so there are multiple optimal strategies!! thank you for playing!!
Possibly the cutest game in the game jam. I loved the art and the concept. Very addictive gameplay too! Great work!
AW THANK U!!
Super cute game, loved it.
thank you!!
Nice dude. It is awesome, the difficulty ramps up pretty fast. And also it would be fine to differentiate the individual cards with different images, if they have different uses. Otherwise, it was really fun and interesting concept. I really enjoyed it. Btw is it possible to beat the bird enemy? I must try harder XD.
hi thank you for playing!! the different icons on the cards show what identity they belong to; when u assume the identity, those cards get a boost. also beating the bird enemy mostly just requires picking the right identity based on the dating app description + buffing up your charm!
A very creative, cute, and genuinely fun game. I really love the atmosphere and the overall feeling it gives me. The combination of card-based gameplay and the bill/payment system is designed in a really interesting way, and I ended up playing for much longer than I expected without even realizing it.
As a Slay the Spire player myself, this game gives me a somewhat similar kind of experience, which is something I really enjoy.
THANK YOU!! slay the spire was my main inspiration so that means a lot :)
I loved the vibe and theme but the gameplay was a bit confusing I didnt quite understand whta happening. good job<3
(also if you had free time , pls check out our game too )

i'll def include more of a tutorial and thank you for playing!!
Very cool game, fantastic art and idea. A bit easy but great game nonetheless
def need to balance out the gameplay a little but thank you!! i'll try to make it tougher in future updates :)
Really underrated game! Loved the concept and visuals! :))
thank you for playing!!
This game is so cute there was another game that had to do with dating I kind of just love the vibes lol. The card game mixup is great too! Good job :)
hi thank you sm!!
Show Me Your Hand is a really clever and funny interpretation of a card-game loop. Turning the bill into a health bar and Block into a form of defense makes the gameplay immediately distinct, and I enjoyed building Charm while trying to survive each increasingly absurd date.
The characters, dialogue quotes, card art, and small animations work very well together. I especially liked how the static character art still feels dynamic through the little movement, shadows, and expressive reactions. The different identities and status effects also make the deckbuilding choices interesting.
I only have a few small clarity suggestions: highlighting terms such as Charm, Gaslight, and Block directly on the cards, with a hover tooltip, would make the first playthrough easier to understand. It would also be nice if card values visibly updated when Charm changes them, and if the final stats screen had a clear Main Menu or Play Again button. The music is good too; a slightly lower starting volume would make the opening more comfortable.
Overall, this is an awesome submission with a very original concept and a strong visual identity. Great work!
HELLO thank you so much for your review and your video!! there is so much good feedback both in what you've outlined here and through verbalizing your thought process while playing the game!! i agree w all your points, especially needing a way to highlight the terms on the card (i was going to do something similar to slay the spire but ran out of time). i really appreciate your time and i'm glad u enjoyed it.
Beautiful and cleverly designed game that is fun to play, built right on the theme and is a full and complete experience, even with a story inside! That is actually a very rare find!
It’s a shame you have so few rates, your game deserves better!
The only thing I can critique is the lack of ability to play the game in a full screen mode on the web as when you pressing the full screen mode button the canvas does not resize along with the container and the text are a bit to small to be read them comfortable.
hey!! thank you so much for playing and for your kind words about my game; really appreciate it, esp coming from the dev behind late night pawn shop (such an insane atmosphere and hypnotic gameplay)!! i definitely need to fix the full screen issue and only noticed it after the bug fix period ended somehow. additionally, thank you so much for shouting out my game in your description!! means so so much :)
