How does the game fit the theme?
You can't trust anyone except simon, he's the most trust worthy guy you know
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
a few sound effects from pixabay
How many people worked on the game?3

Overall, this was really good! I liked the IRL cutscenes, really set the stage well. The Omega Flowey and JX1DX1 faces were cool references(Although personally I would have made the Flowey one be more of a reference and not his final form). I wish there were more branching paths, but that's mostly because I liked the game so much. Let me end by saying
I KNEW IT I FREAKING KNEW IT!!! THERE IS ONE ROOM TRANSITION IN THE WHOLE GAME, AND THE TREES LOOK THE SAME AS THE DELTARUNE ONES, HE IS BEHIND THE TREEEEEEEEE
Ok I freaked out IRL when I saw that it's a nice touch :) also it looks like I'm the first one to see this??? Or at least to comment about it? W game good job man
Bullfrog did it again! What an interesting and creative game. I enjoyed the real life footage and the storybuilding. I am very curious what would have happened if I freed Simon
What an incredible game !! The atmosphere is skillfully gloomy, the story gave me goosebumps, the cutscenes breaking the fourth wall really are powerfull ! Here are the very few areas for improvement I see in the game :
(watchout for spoilers if you are reading this without having played the game, you really should it's great)
- The biggest drawback of your game in my opinion is the walking speed. I understand that it's made to imitate retro games, but it feels really slow. In a way it's a good thing because the sprint ability Simmon gives you truly feels like a reward. But I think a faster character with more responsive controls would have been more pleasant. I think replaying the game to see the different endings might seem like a "task" for some players.
- I was also surprised to see that Simmon uses the "Game Over" as a pressure point when you refuse to give it it's second update. It feels incoherent because he seems to want the player to stay in the game more than anything, right ?
- And last tiny thing : when Simmon asked me for it's first upgrade, the choice of words made me think at first that we were still playing "Simmon Says", so it confused me a tiny bit lol.
That's all for the drawbacks, everything else was 10/10, absolutely loved your game, best game contender right here 🫵
I really liked this game! However, I am just gonna stick to critiques for this comment as many of the other comments already make compliments that I would make. I didn't really like the fact that you used the face of omega flowey for when simon was deteriorating. It made the game feel very unoriginal. Also, this is a game jam so this can only really be treated as a nitpick cuz you wouldn't have been able to combat this really, but I don't really like how the game siphons all of the choices you can make into only 2 concrete endings placed at the same point(ik theres death and the cube, but those dont feel very much like endings. I dont think they are). I feel like that spinning cube in the no mans land should have more of a role. Also, the "START" button in the simon app doesnt have a hover animation and just stays static. You should make it fade like the start menu buttons. Great game though!
Really liked the cutscenes, good job!
The idea was really creative, especially the game videos! And the ending was so cool when Simon said “Game Over.” Congratulations, your game was really amazing!
Disturbing. In a good way. Great job!
5/5 on everything this game was so fun
I absolutely loved the video cutscenes, they were so high quality and just fun to watch!
I didnt even needed to think while giving the ratings by far the best game of what have ı played in the jam but possibly one of the best game in the jam acctualy Everything you did was perfect but audio and visuals also how it fits to the theme was beyond perfect congrats
The film meets video game visual style is so cool, I really enjoyed the story of this game and Simon as a character. Although I wish there was a big more actual gameplay, it was fun to replay and try out different endings. And the cat companion did make me happy, thank you Simon.
this is so cool! the live action segments mixed with the gameplay reminded me a lot of inscryption. i really loved the visuals and audio as well, they're super well done. i'll have to come back to this to see what happens if i make different choices. good work!
It was good. I had fun :) I especially liked the design of the robot, but the slow speed at the begining was a bit anoyying xD
(now, as you said, please go rate my game :) )
felt so real. I was not even increasing the difficulty because Simon did not say that.
The itch.io-themed title screen is awesome. That alone is already a great touch. I really loved the game, it’s incredible and very original. It has so much personality of its own. Congratulations on creating this masterpiece!
This is a masterpiece!
really fun idea and the live action parts make it stand out a lot. the cutscenes look great and the whole vibe feels like something that could easily become a full game. the atmosphere is strong and the mix between real footage and retro horror works really well. only small thing is that the power increase does not fully show in the gameplay, but that is a minor point. overall a very polished and memorable entry. (pls play my game)
I like the IRL cutscenes, and it feels like an idea begging for a full game. If I had to give one criticism it would be that although we see him get more powerful, gameplay wise it doesn't 100% translate. But that is a very minor complaint. Very fun game 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This is incredible! One of the best games by far.
Congratz on the innovation side. The live action part is not something you see everyday on jam entries. Nicely executed. Simple graphics, but very tight and the shaders really give a whole atmosphere to it.
Fantastic Game, incredibly polished, and built an phenomenal atmosphere around a fantastic transition between real life first person visuals and this retro styled horror game.
Well done!
