How does the game fit the theme?
What happens when you can not trust the hints from Minesweeper any more ? This is a short exploration on that topic.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
The font is DCC - Bomber from dafont ; all the rest (sprites, code) is from me, either new or from previous prejects

Nice use of the theme! Would've been cool to have some sound effects or background music I think, and I wished the last level was a bit more like the previous ones where you can't just simply trust the numbers like you normally do. It was very fun and I loved your twist on minesweeper! I agree with everyone else and thought the second level was the hardest purely because my brain was still figuring out the pattern but it was still pretty intuitive. Wish there were other modifiers for the last level (and the 4th one)!
Thanks for playing ! Sound effects and music are definitely my nemesis and the last thing I consider doing, but I noticed recently how it improve the feeling, so it's on my ToDo list to add SFX and music to my old and new projects.
I'm open to ideas on modifiers as mines are a little bit weak for now (the one on level 2 is actually the most interesting one imho).
I always think it's awesome when devs take an idea from an established game and build a new mechanic around it. And I think it works really well, especially the way you did it.
I really enjoy traditional Minesweeper. I think it works well with your art style. I got stuck for a bit on Level 2.
Congrats on the work.
Thanks for playing! I found it quite natural to use Minesweeper as it's definitely a game where trust is important.
Hopefully you manage to go over level 2, if not you can enable to reveal the board when you lose a game, which help figure out the trick rule :)
Nice interpretation of minesweeper based on the theme. Nice work
Thank you !
I will not be able to try yours as I'm on Linux but the idea sounds nice!
I am too, I just assumed people on linux could run windows games like I can no problem. Next time, I could go ahead and export a linux build just in case. It doesn't hurt. I recommend using wine or taking advantage of steam's proton if you haven't already. With steam, all you would need to do is add a non-steam game and change compatibility to use proton in the games property settings.
Nice! Love the art style
Thank you!
I like the concept but I wish it has more "trick" levels.
The hardest was the level 2, I think because my mind wasn't "used" yet to look for the trick.
Thanks for playing!
Levels 2-3-4-5 have trick, but level 2 is definitely the most interesting I think. For level 5, I also wanted to play on the expectation of a trick but it being more a regular "moderate/hard game". Thanks for the feedback and I'm open to more trick ideas :)
I have a couple of ideas, but I'm not sure how feasible they are:
Sounds good, I'll give them a try! Thanks!
Good idea, I had fun solving these. Took me some time to figure out level 2.
I think most levels were just normal Minesweeper though? Would be cool if they all (except the first maybe) had some modifiers.
Level 2 to 5 have some kind of modifier but the one in Level 2 is the most interesting one I'd say. I'll try to find better ideas for future version ! Thanks for the feedback!
Nice entry! I like minesweeper. Seemed like the first and last ones (and the portal reference) were standard? I think the one with 8's was the easiest for me to catch on. But very clever with the altered rules
Nice work here with the theme!
Thank you! You're right, first and last are standard game, although the last one does not display the mine count (no the best modifier but the best I could imagine during the jam).
I like this take! Requires some thinking to identify the patterns, and once you do is just good old minesweeper. Great job!
Thanks! Hopefully the amount of thinking is balanced enough!
Cool take on the theme! Enjoyed playing it!
Thank you!
Cool idea, i just got a little confused at the start of each level, figuring out what was a 1 or 2, or 0.
The first level is a regular minesweeper, levels 2 and 3 hide the hint information and the goal is to figure out how ; Levels 4 and 5 should give the same hints as regular minesweeper. What was confusing for you ? And how would you improve it to make it less confusing?
Thanks for playing!
Nice idea i ould be funny some sort of hints given by numbers so u can trust them or not on the next move to do GJ :)
There are definitely more ideas to try on the hint modifiers, I have a few more written but open to suggestions! Thanks for playing!
i liked it. good minesweeper with some tricks. what's was the cake gimmick? felt like normal minesweeper? and was the last level hiding the mine count? haven't played minesweeper for over 20 years, it was fun. good take on the theme.
Thanks! Originally I was planning to implement something with a cake visual but didn't find a doable and good enough idea in the remaining time, so it's normal minesweeper but the mine count is misleading (although I'm not sure anyone really relies to that info). Probably something to improve for a next version :)
Surprised I haven't seen more minesweeper esq games done. Cool interpretation.
I've seen a couple for the jam, I felt I was sooo original but that was indeed a low-hanging idea :D But that's interesting to see how different people implemented their own twist of Minesweeper! Thanks for playing!
What a terrible minesweeper game, loved it! Great twist on a game we all played.
Thanks for playing!
The minesweeper game feels really good with the jam theme. After alot of trial and error, you start seeing the patterns, and stop listening to the hints, which is really well executed!
Thank you! It gets some training to play despite the hints :)
Managed to beat all levels, though I did use the "reveal on death" option which does give away the gimmick of each level. I think the hardest level for me was the final one just because of how many bombs there are, and on my board it came down to a 50/50 guess as to the last bomb (luckily I got it). Good take on the theme imo.
Thanks for playing! I wish I had spent more time on the modifiers but implementing the whole game took longer than expected. The final one is actually intermediate to hard difficulty of the regular game, so congrats for actually managing to win ! :)
