Good game with really nice soundtrack. Good job! :)

Developer

Thank you! Glad you liked it!

Nice game, keep it up!

(Our game is still a bit short on ratings, so if you've got a sec to leave one we'd really appreciate it :D)

Developer

Thanks! I’ll go check yours out as well :)

Developer

Lol it does kind of look like it. I didn’t realize it until much later in development :P thanks for playing!

The game is really fun.

The moveset is quite solid, although I miss some upgrades or power ups to give more variety to the gameplay.

I clip out of bounds using the respawn, trying to land on something visible down below. That caused a game over. was that intentional?

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing and the technical feedback! A couple players also respawned OoB and triggered the game over. Not supposed to happen but now I know how to fix so thanks for that!

Wanted to have more attacks and powerups but ran out of time unfortunately. Post jam updates for sure!

Submitted(+1)

Pretty fun game !!(though the theme just felt like it was added on as an after thought)

The visuals and all were pretty nice, and the game was fun and enjoyable, though i personally felt the last room was a little too difficult (but could definitely be a skill issue on my part XD)

Developer(+1)

I planned on a few more attacks that would help with the crowd control. Also wanted 2-3 more enemy types, for better balancing. Perhaps a post-jam update... Thanks for playing and your feedback!

Submitted(+1)

This was great fun but not sure how it fits the theme. I appreciated the unlimited ammo and the bombs were fun to use. Great job!

Developer(+1)

I'll admit, the theme was weak.. I spent all my time refining the combat mechanics :( Learnings for the next jam... Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

Unlimited ammo yayyyyy
The bombs are really OP but it's definitely needed for such huge hordes of enemies

Also it might be a skill issue but I always die from the grey fast ones XwX

Solid game

Developer(+1)

Yeah those grey ones are a bit too fast, and the white ones are too slow (they never land a hit unless you’re standing next to them for 3-5 business days). I’ve done some balancing to make the grey guys slower and the white guys faster. It’s much better tuned. Thanks for playing and your feedback!

Nice work, pretty satisfying to snipe things. I think it could use a little bit of heft/impact with the shooting (especially sniper mode) but was lotsa fun.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and feedback! I agree. The sniper shot could use some oomph to differentiate it from the normal arrows. Working on a post jam update!

Submitted(+1)

That was really satisfying to take people out, the music stressed me out. lol Great work!

Developer

I wanted to have music options but ran out of time. Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Nooo why did you betray me narrator :c
Nice job for this game, I really liked using the bomb (it might be a bit too op though, but I like it as it is)

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked it! I made the bomb radius even bigger post jam, so now it’s even more op! :D

Thanks for playing.

I dig the animations you’ve gotten into this game! I did, unfortunately have to choose between dodging or shooting because of how my keyboard works so for most parts I was very slow and died a lot. Great jam-feature though that death didn’t really mean much in the end. Else I would have gotten nowhere!

Though it is a big ask for a jam, I would recommend key-rebinds or controller support for any game that has more complex input schema than just WASD/Arrows because you never know what type of hardware or physical limitations people have.

The narrator / texts were nice to and added a lot to what otherwise was a very linear game.

Since I had kinda given up on playing the game proper before even starting I didn’t look too closely, but one mechanic that could have been good was if you regen life if not hit for a few seconds. But with free respawns I guess that would not have felt like a big difference unless there was a reward for not dying.

Play-through with more feedback:

Developer (3 edits) (+1)

Wow!! Thank you for the video review as well. It’s always nice getting to see how people play the game. I’m sorry about your keyboard set up! I didn’t even think about split keyboards - that definitely would have made things very hard. I had every intention of putting in key rebindings and controller support but sadly ran out of time. It would’ve made your experience much better and I’m already working on a post jam update.

I planned on having health pickups, and a lives system where killing enemies earned you lives but those features didn’t make it, hence the infinite respawns (which I think fits better for a jam because it lets players play to the end).

I also wanted to have 2 more attack types (another crowd control attack and an ultimate attack), 2-3 more enemy types (a tank and a caster, maybe a boss), and gold to purchase stat boosts/attacks but again ran out of time. Perhaps post jam I’ll keep working on it if the motivation is there… thanks again for playing and your feedback!

I really liked the combat mechanics, and I had a fun time destroying all the enemies room to room. Very fun game!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it :)

Submitted(+1)

Nice, I like how there are some real combat mechanics here, and it's pretty fun. Well done!

Developer

Glad you like it, thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

I like that the gameplay is fair - when you die, nothing resets, you can just move on. The music fits very well and made me motivated to beat the game. Well done. :)

Developer

Yep, I wanted to give players a chance to experience the whole thing without having to restart from the beginning. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

I died when I beat the last tower on the second level and then the gate would not open for me after I ressurected. I think the movement and combat is great. I would have liked an +HP or Power up type pick up maybe :) this is cool, it does not match the theme super well but this is a great concept with fun gameplay you could expand this many ways or use the mechanics for a new project because they are solid!

Developer (1 edit)

I planned on having pickups but unfortunately scope got away from me, as it goes! I did encounter the soft lock once after a room, I think it has to do with the enemy accounting getting out of sync. I'm working on a bug fix for this. Thank you for your feedback and for playing! I'm glad to read positive reviews on the gameplay :)

Submitted(+1)

Nice Game, the gamepley is well done.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing!

Submitted(+1)

It is really well designed! Different firing modes, bombs, enemy behaviours - all of this feels like a necessary addition rather than randomly glued mechanic. The tutorials are another strong part - seamlessly incorporated into the levels and straightforward which is very important for this kind of game.

I have also struggled with incorporating the theme into my game, it's easier said than done but I suppose if there is a weaker side to the submission that would be it, since at the end I wasn't sure if I have run into a bug or if being locked in a room after the fight was intended.

All in all - I think you have done an amazing job here with the game mechanics!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback.. this helps a lot! I also got soft locked once after defeating the third room, but didn’t happen until after submission closed. Probably something to do with my enemy accounting. Regarding the theme, sometimes I get inspiration sometimes I don’t. This jam I didn’t haha. Looking forward to trying your game too!

Submitted(+1)

Liked the movement and also the shooting mechanics of the game! I enjoyed playing it!

Developer

So happy you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

It's an very motion-full experience. The character's movement and control is complete, direct, intuitive and fun to play with. Enjoyment. I had fun.

Developer(+1)

Glad you like the controls.. I think I spent most of my time on it. thanks for playing!
